This home has one of the best views on Trout Lake! Nestle in with the Loons and stay at this Cape Cod home on peaceful Trout Lake. The front of this home faces the lake and the back of the home includes property that overlooks a cove...two properties in one! This four season home was built in 1997 and is truly like brand new. New owners as of May '07 - all rooms include new furniture, accessories and amenities. Painting in all rooms completed in May '08. This house sits on the North Shore of Trout Lake, which has a sand bottom (no weeds) with full southern exposure and clear/clean lake water. Perfect vacation home for families - plenty of room with 3 master size bedrooms, large closets and 2 Full Baths. Fishing motorboat, Canoe, Paddle Boat, sandbox and fire pit are all ready for use. Private dock available for you boat too! Plenty of lake to enjoy all watersports. Just pack your clothes/bring food = All Linens/Towels Provided! Only 2 weeks of Peak Season left for summer 09

Trout Lake is surrounded by 1600 acres of State forest, where there are state-marked hiking trails. Trout Lake is annually stocked by NYS Dept. of Conservation with rainbow and lake trout, large and small mouth bass. Perch and rock bass are native to the lake. Great day trips are available in all directions. East - high peak region of the Adirondacks, including Lake Placid - the site of two Winter Olympics games (90 min). North - Ottawa (90 min), the capital of Canada - one of the most beautiful capitals in the world. Ottawa is rich in culture and is known for its museums, park lands, waterways and architecture. West - The Famous Thousand Island region (1 hr), offers boat cruises, castle and mansion sight seeing, shopping and restaurants. Canton/St. Lawrence University (20 min) - Main St. shops, fun for dining, ice cream, movies, bowling, Farmers Mkt, Park Concerts. St. Lawrence River (45 min.), Watertown (1 hr), Syracuse (2 hrs) and Utica (2 hrs)

Our stay was well worth it. Fishing and swimming a must. The house is beautiful and well kept. Paddle boat used by boys for transport to and from floating docks. We love it here! House Projects '07 - '08: 2007 - Projects included replacing all furniture and amenities (all brand new). Power washed and stained deck, looks like new. Landscaped all around home. Fixed well water tank. 2008 - New paint throughout. Replaced kitchen faucet. New kitchen stove. Took off railing off of front deck for better view of lake. Replaced washer/dryer.

Great Getaway

If you want to get away from it all and enjoy clean water, fresh air and peace and quiet, then this is the place for your vacation. The owners were very nice and helpful and the description of the property was accurate. There are marvelous views of the lake from just about anywhere in the house and the house itself was kept very nice and clean with many amenities. We loved using the canoe and small fishing boat and swimming in the lake. The bedrooms and living room were comfortable and the screened in lanai was also a big plus. There were many comfortable chairs to sit on outside and it was nice eating out on the deck by the water. We were lucky to have a cool breeze so there were not many bugs around to pester us. It is a bit out of the way from any real towns so you should bring what you need with you to limit the amount of trips to the supermarket which is about 25 mins away. The small roads are confusing and it is easy to get lost travelling in the area. We did take a day trip to Ottawa which was worth the trip. It was about 1 1/2- 2 hours from the house. The house is also fairly close to the 1000 islands which is another nice day trip. I would love to return to the lake/property someday. I wish I could have stayed there for a few weeks rather than just a week. The whole family which includes teenagers and our dog really loved the lake. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away from it all. Jon & Lucy.
