Get away from it all on the most secluded cove of Squam Lake with tremendous wildlife and full boat access to the main lake; a paradise for kayakers, naturalists, fishermen, couples and families alike. Dogs welcome. 500 Feet of wooded shoreline bordering conservation land. Private dock accommodates 17ft boat. Short swim to floating raft. Cabins include: 25x22 Main cabin and two detached 10 x 10 sleeping cabins (one w/ loft), all are located ~50 feet from water and are clean with hardwood floors and plenty of fresh air. Non-smoking, no cats. Perfect for couples or family... kayaking, canoeing, swimming, hiking, fishing. Well behaved dogs welcome with additional cleaning fee and prior approval.

Located next to conservation land on secluded Squaw Cove, this property is one of the most private you will find. Your neighbors in the cove are Loon, Moose, Blue Heron and an occasional kayaker or fisherman. Through 2 sets of narrows, boaters have access to the many islands, coves and public beaches of Squam lake. A short walk leads to the trailhead of the less traveled Butterworth Trail up East Rattlesnake Mountain, to a beautiful overlook of Squam lake. A short drive to Center Sandwich: a village from the past... small cafe, tennis courts, and fairgrounds - home of the renowned Sandwich Fair... also has a library with wireless i-net service, the 'Industries' a trading post for local artisans, and several other galleries/ antique shoppes. To the west are the Squam Lakes Science Center, a modern public boat launch, the quaint village of Holderness, the local golf course, and waterfront dining at Walter's Basin.

This cabin has been family 'getaway' for decades; there is purposely no telephone, no TV and no internet access. There are plenty of nature books and board / card games. There is cell phone coverage with verizon and some other carriers. If you prefer to play DVDs a player/TV can be made available: DVD rentals are available nearby. There is free internet access in town at the coffee shop and also at the town library... a perfect setting to 'get away.'

Our Suggestions for a Perfect Day on Squaw Cove: Wake to the sunrise and the mist rising over the narrows. Take a morning dip in the crystal clear water. Sip your morning coffee on the dock and enjoy the vista of the Squam Range. Fish unlimited wooded shoreline, spend the day on the lake or up a nearby mountain. Take a leisurely afternoon nap in the hammock at the waters edge. Bbq on the deck within steps of the waters edge. Take an early evening kayak to the far side of the cove to hear loons and maybe see a moose. Finish the day with a good book, puzzles or family games. If this is your view of a perfect day, you will fall in love with this place as we have.

This location is and ideal home base for paddling one of the most pristine lakes in New England. Squaw Cove on Squam Lake, and the adjacent cove are scenic, protected from the winds, and designated "no wake" zones.The water is crystal clear and refreshing. The camp is the perfect launch site to paddle to these areas,including "Five Fingers," which is a paddling and hiking area managed and protected by the University of New Hampshire. Excellent hikes are literally right down the road.The camp itself is clean, rustic and well equipped with a great front deck for viewing the cove and watching the loons. Looking for pampered luxury? Look elsewhere. Looking for perfection on a beautiful lake in a wooded paradise? You'll be at home here.
