A spacious well equipped Villa with a private swimming pool, just a few seconds walk from the beach. Our villa is situated in Bahia de Arena, a private beach front community of 20 houses with 24 hour security and 24 hour electricity. We have the best location in Cabarete for kite boarding and wind surfing or just relaxing and enjoying your vacation. Cabarete is renowned for it's wind, a combination of trade winds and local thermal effect. Sitting on the beach you are sheltered from the majority of the wind whilst still enjoying the cooling breeze. Our villa is shielded from the majority of the wind, leaving a gentle cooling breeze as you relax by the pool or sit, sipping drinks, in the shade on the veranda. Cabarete town is just a short walk along the beach. The town is full of beach-front cafes, bars and restaurants. There are also many other activities and tours that can be bought locally.

The Villa is located in a beach-front community at Bahia de Arena (Bay of Sand), Cabarete on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic. Cabarete is renowned for its turquoise sea, long fine-sandy bay and consistent trade winds. Cabarete town is 10 to 15 minutes stroll along the beach. The villa is located a few steps away from the best spot on the beach, offering the perfect place to launch a kite or windsurfer and sail to play in the waves on the reef. There are many supermarkets, shops and restaurants close by to walk or taxi your shopping home. There are many excursions that can be booked in specialist tour-agents. Cheap taxi hire makes day-trips easy and in-expensive. Water-World is only half an hour away, you can swim with dolphins there. During the months January-March Whale watching trips are available. Sometimes you can see whales passing the reef off the beach. Within the bay turtles and manatees can sometime be seen if you are out on the water.

Beautiful Villa, great location!

We stayed in Villa Gecko in July of 2009. There were 6 of us, two couples, each with an 11 year old daughter. The Villa is beautiful, spacious, nicely furnished and located in a very nice gated community. The location is perfect, just a short 10 minute walk to the restaurants.
The management was very helpful. We made a couple of day trips to Sosua beach (we took a taxi) and an excursion to the Blue Lagoon (purchased through the management office). We walked to Cabarete several times. Everything was beautiful!
Thank you Mick for a wonderful time, we will come back!
