Cottage in the Sane - Sandwich, MA ******

The house merits a 5 star rating. The location is private, the front looks onto a beautiful salt marsh and the back is smack on the ocean. Three decks (!) are beautifully equipped with redwood furniture - tables, chairs, chaises, umbrellas, etc. plus there are many extras available. There are TWO gas grills-one upstairs and the other downstairs. It's an ideal house for two generations as it has two levels, both with wonderfully comfortable living rooms and each with its own bathroom, TV, etc. There is plenty of everything in terms of kitchen accessories, outside furniture, and most important, everything is in good working order, Beds (including futon) are very comfortable as are the couches! Whole house is very liveable and enjoyable with amazing views and sunsets. Beach is a bit rocky but not a big deal. I wish I'd been there later in summer (it was mid-May) but the house is heated (also air conditioned!) - our weather wasn't great but the house was!! The owners are very acccessible and provide superb customer service.
Sandwich is an easy ride from Boston - about one hour - and it's a beautiful town. The owners provide a book with menus, etc. from local restaurants and there are some really GOOD ones: Daniel Webster Inn and Sweet Tomatoes (yum pizza right down the road) were our favorites. I would certainly recommed this house to anyone other than someone who can't do stairs. It's wonderful!!
