Lakefront townhouse - Lake Placid, FL

We rented this townhouse for the month of February. It was everything we hoped for and more. This was our first experience in renting a property through the internet and we were a bit apprehensive. No need - the place was gorgeous and very clean, with every consideration given to the comfort of its guests. We enjoyed the numerous amenities immensely, including the pool, linai, the big screen television, stereo system, jacuzzi bathtub, washer and dryer, grill, and garage, plus the lovely lake view and nearby citrus groves. All appliances, air conditioning, etc. were in great working order and and all rooms were beautifully decorated and equipped.
The town of Lake Placid was very pretty, with shopping and restaurants nearby. We enjoyed an evening in the town of Lake Placid, looking at all the historical murals painted on the buildings - very impressive.
We took an airboat ride on nearby Arbuckle Creek and Lake Istokpoga . This was so much fun and we were delighted to see so much native wildlife (alligators, turtles, wild boars, deer, etc.).
We also took a couple of trips to Highland Hammock State Park in Sebring and enjoyed the tram ride (so much to see and hear) and had a picnic there (lovely picnic area with tables and grills provided). This is a wonderful park with lots of trails to traverse, a quaint restaurant which serves lunch, ice cream and cold drinks, plus a museum to visit. It also has a great playground for the kids.
We visited Gatorama when our grandchildren visited us for a couple of days. They loved it, as we did, too.
The Lake Placid area is beautiful, and we enjoyed traveling around the many lakes in the area, looking at the beautiful homes situated on these lakes.
The owner of the property certainly takes pride in this townhouse and it is reflected throughout. We were pleased that he called us on our first day there to make sure everything was in order and to our liking. We would certainly recommend this townhouse to friends and we look forward to visiting this property again in the future.
