The Pikes Peak Region of Colorado offers many exciting opportunities for enjoyment - From Natural wonders to theater and music. We have many protected areas within a 15 to 20 minute drive - from National Parks to State Parks and National Forests. Cripple Creek itself has Museums, Theater, Restaurants and Casino Gambling Fun. There are many Festivals going on year round - almost every weekend - all within a 30 mile radius. Many Fishing lakes ( Skagway, 11 Mile, Rampart, etc ) offer great hikes and water sports as well as fishing. The US Air Force Academy and Pikes Peak Summit as well as the US Olympic Training Center are 3 of Colorado's top 5 attractions. All of these are within a 45-60 minute drive as well. This Central Colorado region is exemplary in that it hosts the intersection of several beautiful ecosystems - The Eastern Colorado plains adjoin the northern New Mexico Chaparral along with the forested meadows, and Alpine regions of the Rocky Mountains. Solar Home: This home has it all, not only is it secluded, with 180% views of the Mountain Ranges - Sangre De Cristo - some of the best views I have seen in Colorado, but it is just 5-10 minutes from our Historic Gambling town - where there is plenty to do, even if you are not a gambler. But the home is also a Solar HOme. It works very well as a solar home as it is so warn and sunny with its natural passive solar - that the active solar itself is really only required after dark or on cloudy days.
