Outstanding home perfect for 4 families

This house was outstanding for our extended-family vacation (Grandma and Grandpa, 3 brothers and their wives, and 7 kids ages 5 to 13). The house was very clean and very comfortable. There was lots of room to spread out; the adults claimed the living room (with TV), while the kids had the large den (and TV), the finished portion of the basement, and the large backyard (big enough for wiffle ball) to play in. For eating we had plenty of room for 9 in the dining room and squeezed six kids at the table in the kitchen eating area (nice view). The nicely sized bedrooms upstairs easily accomodated us using the two provided rollaways and an inflatable mattress we brought. The paved parking area is behind the house, and reasonably large (we had 4 cars, and we could have easily fit another) and in good condition.
The house is filled with everything one could expect to need. The common refrain as we were looking for places in the kitchen to put our things was, “Oh, look, they have this. I guess we didn't need to bring it.” There were tons of plates, bowls, glasses, etc. In the living room a desk (with chair) was outfitted with stacks of brochures, maps, guidebooks, and even restaurant menus.
The location was ideal. It is less than 2 min to the Hulls Cove Visitor Center. In 10 min we could be to downtown Bar Harbor (and Hannaford's grocery) or the start of the Cadillac Mtn Rd, and in 20 min we could get to Sand Beach, Jordan Pond, or even the Walmart in Ellsworth. From the house, you can easily access the two-way portion of the Park Loop Road and get to Cadillac and Jordan Pond directly. Here I will mention the only negative thing about the house – it is right on the main road into Bar Harbor, and the car noise is really, really noticeable and can make getting to sleep a challenge.
The cove is shown in the picture is beautifully visible from the kitchen and two of the bedrooms. We had a great time walking around the cove at low tide finding beautiful, intact shells and exploring the rocks. At high tide the beach disappears and the cove is particularly lovely to look at.
Finally, the owner of the house is an absolutely wonderful person to deal with. She responded to all of my questions very quickly, politely, and helpfully, and I got the refund of my deposit in the mail 4 days after we left. We would highly recommend this property.
