Tortuga Inn has a private beach with white sand and clear blue seas, as well as sunsets so dazzling, they will leave you speechless. The beach is part of a nine-mile-long strand, that extends from one end of Anna Maria to the other, perfect for collecting shells. Nature thrives here flowers, flocks of seabirds, pelicans, great blue herons and all manner of exotic marine life, including loggerhead turtles and manatees. Restaurants of every kind abound from informal pier and beachside cafes, to fancy French bistros, with just about everything in between. Many restaurants are within walking distance. If you do not want to drive, you can take the free Anna Maria Island Trolley.

Wonderful Getaway Accomodations and Sightseeing

This was the second year I stayed in this condo, and once again, I was NOT disappointed! The condo is clean, comfortable, and decorated wonderfully for a stay near the beach. It's a great home base for those that are all day beach-hounds, sightseers or shoppers, but also a very nice place to just kick back and relax in. Both bedrooms and the living room have nice TVs, and the kitchen is well-equipped. There is maid service every day and if you need anything, the office is more than responsive!
The beach is clean and uncrowded, there are local shops nearby as well as restaurants, bigger shopping a short drive away, a free shuttle that runs up and down the island, parasailing and fishing opportunities within a mile.
Now you might be asking what I would want different about staying here...and my answer is really "nothing"! I checked out several other condos on the island when I was there in 2008 and found nothing that compared to this one.
I will be back next year for sure!

Peaceful Paradise

We have been so fortunate to find this vacation spot and this condo has been just perfect for us. This is our second year to stay here at Tortuga. I appreciated the privacy of the beach the most and the friendliness of the few people we did meet on the beach. The accommodations were very nice and clean and daily maid service was a blessing. We were located where we had no crowds to deal with, yet we were just minutes from Historic Bridge Street, parasailing (what a blast!), shopping at the end of the island, and lots of good eating places within 5 minutes of our door. Large screen tv and DVD player, all the kitchen appliances you could want, and a beautiful relaxing decor. We are hoping to book again for next year. I highly recommend this property.

Great Girls Getaway

This is the second year that my family and some close friends have stayed at the condo and we plan to do it again next year. The condo is beautiful! It was even better than the pictures online. I would highly recommend this property to anyone. It is well-mantained and clean. We slept 5 women comfortably and the bathroom is big enough to share easily. We traveled to different beaches in the area and I found that the beach at Tortuga is the best. Very quiet and peaceful. Out of this world sunsets! The staff was very helpful to give us anything and everything we could want and were very friendly. As for the other comment on the TV... there is a large TV in the living room, but with a beach like this who needs TV anyway. Don't miss out on this one!!

Great escape, close to home

Anna Maria Island has been a favorite vacation spot for people from the Lakeland, Florida, area for many years, so we decided to give it a try when some friends suggested Tortuga. We’re glad they did. Our 2BR/1BA unit wasn’t in the most luxurious part of Tortuga (that part is nice, too) but it was well within our budget and worth the money. There’s plenty of parking, some of which is covered. When we weren’t at the beach, which is directly across the street, we lounged on the large, nicely landscaped deck surrounding the pool and met a lot of interesting people, many of whom were there with their kids. The unit was clean and modern, with free Internet access and cable TV. The island itself retains the charm of a bygone era, with good but unpretentious restaurants and a free trolley that runs all day and well into the evening. We’ll definitely be back

My husband and I were looking for an affordable, kid-friendly, and intimate beach rental on Anna Maria Island for a family of four. We found that and more. The condo had a Key West feel with many native plants. The beach is located directly across the street with the added convenience of chairs, towels, umbrellas and beach toys. The two pools and free movie rentals helped keep the kids busy and happy. The area was also very rustic and not commercialized like other FL beaches can be. We found delicious local restaurants, free trolley rides, and piers to watch the local fisherman! I definitely recommend this beach condo to a friend looking for the same qualities.
