This is probably one of the prettiest spots on Mount Desert Island, on big Long Pond, the largest lake on the island. This camp has been in the family for 3 generations. The camp is 12 paces from the water, with a private dock and artistic curving bridge to the dock. A big stone fireplace in the main room. Two built-in twin bunks and a double bed in the main room. Also separate bedroom with double bed for parents. This is perfect for a couple or small family. Everything you need for a relaxing vacation: listening to the loons at night, kayaking, canoeing, biking or hiking during the day. You can swim right off the dock. An 18 ft canoe for paddling is provided for use. At the end of a well-maintained private road. This is a charming and rustic cabin, lovingly built and well maintained.

Mount Desert Island is home to Acadia National Park. There is an extensive hiking and biking trail system of carriage trails and more challenging terrain. Great kayaking right outside the door on Long Pond or down the road in the ocean from the Pretty Marsh landing about 3 miles away. Lots to do and see. The local repertory theater is just 2 miles down the road. Wonderful New England hospitality and seafood. Mount Desert has long been the second home to some of the wealthiest families in America.
