Photos and Description of this London holiday apartment 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, sleeps 5 maximum

Featured in New York Times Travel Section! Just across the street from the Tower of London & next to beautiful Trinity Square Gardens. Just 1 min. walk from Tower Hill tube stop & 3 min. from Tower Gateway DLR, you'll find this flat the ideal base from which to explore London! Many points of historic interest are nearby, including the Tower of London, Tower Bridge, & London Bridge. Located in 'The City' or financial district, the area is very safe, even for walking around late at night. Due to flat's proximity to the tube station, you can hop on & quickly be near any major attraction in central London: Buckingham Palace, Churchill's War Rooms, Whitehall, Parliament, Big Ben, Kensington Palace. Also nearby (meaning under 15 min. walk) is St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge, London Bridge, St Katherine's Dock, Shad Thames (riverwalk area with more restaurants/pubs/shops), Sir Francis Drake's ship, Shakespeare's Globe Theater, Tate Museum, etc.

There are many pubs & restaurants within a 1-2 minute walk. The Hung, Drawn & Quartered pub is just across Great Tower Street next to All Hallows (church). There are 3 other pubs, a French restaurant, a Spanish restaurant, an Asian noodle place, a pizza/pasta place & a Subway sandwich shop all within a 1-2 minute walk. If you're willing to walk a bit further, you will find a seemingly endless supply of restaurants. One not to miss is Dickens Inn (a former hanging ground for pirates) at St Katherine's Docks! The docks also host a small marina and many quaint cafes, shops & restaurants of all price ranges. If you choose to walk east about 10-15 minutes, you'll find yourself in London's East End, & perhaps at Brick Lane which is famous for its excellent Indian food! I highly recommend the Jack the Ripper Walking Tour of the East End, held at night & starting from the Tower Hill tube, just about a minute (if that) from the flat.

Further details for this holiday apartment rental in London, United Kingdom

Amenities & Rental Policy: Inside the flat: This flat is equipped with a microwave, oven and stove, fridge and freezer, coffee maker, clothing washer and dryer, TV and DVD player, DVD library (40-50 movies), CD/tape player/radio, CD music library (eclectic mix from classical to country music to classic rock to Glenn Miller to opera to jazz to R&B), small book library (about 40 books), and wireless DSL. The flat rental includes all linens, towels, and cutlery. The flat rental includes all linens, towels, and cutlery. Also included are free phone calls from the flat to the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and most of Europe, so you can call your family and friends at home, or make additional travel plans for free from the flat. A four night minimum is usually held to, unless I there happens to be 2-3 nights of availability between other guests with longer stays. This is a strictly non-smoking apartment.

Sleeping arrangements: Sleeping Arrangements: This is a one bedroom flat and is perfect for a single or couple, but can also accommodate a small family, if necessary, for a maximum occupancy of five persons. There is a UK Double bed upstairs (similar in size to a US Queen) (see photos). Downstairs there is a very large, comfy sofa which is six foot two inches between armrests and which makes up nicely into a twin/single bed if desired to accommodate one person (there is no pullout bed in this sofa). Two more persons can be accommodated on a $400 queen size “Aero-Bed” (an expensive type of air mattress). (I need to emphasize that, at 500 square feet, the most the flat can accommodate is a small family of up to five persons - it is simply too small to be used to a group of five adults.)

Website for many more photos & further information: Check out our website! It contains dozens of photos of the flat and virtually everything within walking distance, so you can get a real feel for the flat and its exact location. The site also contains much information on everything from local restaurants, pubs and shops, to local historic sites, to weather, to relevant maps (London Underground and local grocery stores, for instance) and location information, etc.

We had a fantastic week-long holiday at Paul's flat. The location is ideal, so close to the Tower and the Tower Hill tube stop. There were only 2 of us so there was plenty of room. Many previous guests have left guidebooks and maps which help in your planning. Make sure you get an "Oyster" card for the tube and bus fares.
We plan to go back and stay there again!

Great Location

Stayed here with family for a 4 day business/vacation trip. The apartment was clean and comfortable with all the amenities listed. The washer/dryer combo and phone service were HUGE bonuses. We had a small snafu with the wireless internet, but it was quickly resolved. The location is wonderful, walking distance to the tube, Tower Bridge, South Bank and a couple of tube stops to the main attractions.

Use the directions that will be provided when you book if you are taking the tube. There are a number of combinations that you could use, but the one supplied is best, trust me.

We would absolutely stay here again.

My adult daughter and I stayed here in late February 09. Two thumbs up..if you want to be close to it all, have a lovely veiw and lots of privacy, then book this flat. Also provided are many books and maps to aid in your planning of what to do and see, it's very close to many walking tours and the Tube. Many places to eat nearby. I hope to return with my husband in the future and would certainly seek out this rental again if Paul has a vacancy.

My wife and I stayed at the Tower Hill flat in early
February 2009. It is a perfect location in the heart
of the business district. The building is very quiet
and the neighborhood safe with restaurants and
pubs nearby. We found Paul, the owner, to be
completely honest and helpful with any and all
details concerning his rental. The flat is perfect for
a couple wanting to have a more personal
experience than a hotel. We plan to return to
London in the fall and will stay there again. Highly
recommended!!!

My wife and I stayed in the Trinity Square flat in March 2008 (just now writing the review January 2009). All transactions with the owner were professional, he was very responsive, and there was never a worry about anything. The location was great - especially with the Tower of London only 3 minutes walk away! The fact that it was right off of the Tower Hill tube stop was very helpful as well. The owner helped us with any question we had from where to eat nearby, to transportation inquiries, to sightseeing - he was critical in our successful trip. The flat was spotless and perfect for the two of us - we loved the alcove bed and the spiral staircase. The TV was not working while we were there but we were so exhausted each night that it did not matter. I would DEFINITELY recommend this flat to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable base for their London trip. I will most assuredly be looking to stay here again on our next trip to London. Enjoy!!
