The apartment is uniquely furnished and detailed with all the amenities for modern living. The apartment consists of spacious bedroom and well equipped kitchen with the island and dining area. Comfortable bedroom with A/C, TV with cable service and king size bed sleeps 2, but additional pull away cot available for extra charge. Modern bathroom with the shower stocked with complementary organic set of toiletries and hair-dryer. Use of roof-top solarium, where you can relax on the lounge chairs and cool down in the open rain-style shower. Complementary WIFI. Maid service once a week included.

A nice experience

The Urban Suites was a great place to stay, the complex is only a few years old, so everything was clean and modern. It was great staying where the locals reside, I like the choice of experiencing what the locals enjoy, or the experience of the tourists at the beach and 5th Ave. The walk is 8 / 9 blocks to 5th Ave / Beach, which is very doable, there’s cabs everywhere if you don't want to walk. The local fare is great, and if you want more upscale dining, 5th Ave isn’t far away. Ana & Alejandro do a fabulous job taking care of the Urban Suites, and the residents...if you need anything, they're more then happy to help. The rooftop is nice to catch some sun if you don't want to go to the beach, there's a shower to cool off, and it's fairly breezy, so you’re never too hot. The Urban Suites have high speed wireless, I was able to check up on things back home. I’d recommend the Urban Suites to my friends, so If you're looking for a great value, and don't mind getting a little exercise, It's a very nice choice...I'll be back to the Urban Suites again. Thanks to everyone at Urban Suites for a nice couple weeks.

Not suitable for long term rental

This property was not accurate on description or pictures taken of the apartment. It was not fully equiped, I had to buy cooking utensils, dish clothes, bowls, frying pan, etc. It was not a mini fridge but a bar fridge which are totally different in size. The hot plate was old and of very poor quality. There was alot of dust and dirt under the bed and the cob webs in the corners were there upon arrival until departure. I was booked for 2 months and could only last a month. Nobody spoke English at this apartment and it was advertised as there would be someone there that spoke English. That was very upsetting to me! I was also given 1 towel, 1 face towels and 1 hand towel. Laundry was only done once a week. I felt like I was in prison. I had to buy more towels and a pillow because the pillows were hard as rocks. It was also a long walk to the beach and the Kool beach pass that was advertised was not exactly as advertised. The rain shower on the roof top deck was not working either. It was a dirty and noisy location. I would not recommend this property to anyone, even for a short stay.

Although economical, it is in a noisy area and a long walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. I enjoy exercise and went to yoga classes morning and evening, but the walk from the apt to 5th avenue/beach became quiet tiresome. I much prefer a location closer to the beach and not off the beaten path. I felt safe walking during the day, but took a cab back to the apt in the evenings. Unfortunately, I had a little bit of a scare with a cab driver and therefore, would not recommend this location for a single female. Fortunately it is a gated bldg, so once inside it was secure. The unit has air conditioning, but only in the bedroom…there is a fan in the kitchen area. You can leave the bedroom door open to cool the bathroom and kitchen, but they are for the most part pretty warm and uncomfortable. Most of the time I had the bedroom door closed. Also, very few amenities in the kitchen. Ana and Alejandro are extremely nice and helpful. Although I only speak a little Spanish and they a little English, we were still able to communicate. Would not use the $55 transportation that is offered. I took Grayline shuttle from the airport to the apt ($24 high season and $18 low season) and then a cab for $40 from the apt back to the airport.

The Urban Suites aprtment was very clean, comfortable, modern and the locked gate at he street level entrance gives great security. The building is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, we enjoyed walking through town on our way to the beach, it was part of the fun of being in Mexico. The caretaker provided bottled water and the towels were refreshed regularly, the lemon verbena soap was lovely.
The drive from the airport takes takes 50 minutes and costs $50.00, our departure time was very early and we booked a taxi for 4:30 AM. The driver arrived in plenty of time, (we were very thankful) he was smiling and very cheerful, we hated to leave. We also had a discrepancy in our wired payment, due to bank, charges but I did not mind bringing the extra $10.00. We like to use private rentals, it is adventurous and you meets lots of interesting people. The extra perks and convenience of hotels is usually equal to the extra cost.I would recommend this property to anyone looking for good value in Playa del Carmen. Cheers!

The condo was great and Alex and Hania were very nice with us. The rooms are clean and are very secure.
