It also has a full bath off of it, to create a comfortable bedroom . The master bedroom has a handcrafted bed . The second bedroom has a new bed called baby bear's bed. It has two bears carved into the headboard. It is a handmade custom bed also. New handcrafted bedroom dresser's are coming for late spring 2009!

Notes: We do ask that smokers use the porches outside .A sand can for butts and ash trays are provided on front and back porches. We do ask that all smoking is outdoors. The side yard is fenced for small children and pets.Woodland Trail to waterfall in back yard and mountain views. All seasons are pleasant here in the Little River Valley. The weather is temperate, so it's never too hot or too cold. Spring and summer are full of wildflowers and great weather. Fall has the classic-can't be beat COLORFUL FALL LEAVES that the Appalachian mountains are known for. Winter here is very pleasant. The weather is usually temperate, but if your lucky you'll see beautiful softly falling snow. There are several ski areas north of Asheville, and there is still plenty to do here locally because it's rarely too cold!

Loved the fishing

I, being the only girl with two men, was more than happy to find out the guys had reserved a cabin with rooms and bathrooms!
It's very cute! They did a good job!
We arrived late Friday to wake early Saturday and go fly fishing all day on the East Fork and Davidson rivers. We had good luck.
It's Sunday, and we are about to go again.
Thanks for letting us stay!
Oh, and thanks for all the great movies to choose from.

Our recent experience with the Driftwood cottage was a very positive surprise. We didn't know first hand what to expect but the cottage more than met our expectations.

The cottage is very well maintained from the carpentry work to the overall cleanliness. All applinces were in excellent working order. Even if you just want to huddle up and watch movies, there are about a millon of them in the drawer under the TV! We preferred to watch the birds in the woods and listen to the brook behind the cabin.

The neighborhood was very quiet and the front road is "kid friendly" with almost no traffic. The area is quite close to the DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest and shopping in Brevard/Hendersonville, so there should be something to interest most everyone.

We will be trying to come back again!

The Driftwood exceeded our expectations! It was just like a home away from home. I loved everything about it. It is a beautiful location, surrounded by trees with a lovely little waterfall located behind the cabin. We loved visiting with Darla and Dave and their dog Molly. Darla provided maps and directions to several local events that were taking place at the time of our visit and even suggested some great places to eat nearby. The cabin is awesome! We loved all of the black bear and nature decor. We will be back next year and highly recommend it to anyone looking to get away from the fast pace of everyday life.

Great for young children!

We had a wonderful week at Driftwood. The house is located between Pisgah and Dupont Forests and we were able to take full advantage of the hiking, tubing and waterfalls. Our girls 7, 5, and 2 loved playing in the backyard and visiting with Darla and her dog Mollie. The house was equipped with everything we needed and more!!
