Evoking the glamor of 70's Los Angeles and boasting several Catalan design classics, this gorgeous two bedroom / two bathroom apartment with private courtyard breathes a unique, surreal intimacy. From the couch, you look out onto a private inner courtyard of 40 sq metres (430 sq ft). Interior and exterior blend into one, as the rear wall is entirely glass and the private courtyard is basically an extra room, with its wooden deck and reed canopy for extra privacy and filtered sunlight. There is a separate dining area next to the open kitchen, which is fully equipped with top-end appliances, excellent for creating suave dinners and classy canapes. Both bedrooms look out onto the courtyard through breezy white sheers. One of the bedrooms is separated from the living room by a sliding wall. The king size beds are covered with high quality linens and come with a selection of firm and soft pillows. Both have en-suite bathrooms with luxury showers and big, soft towels.

Located steps from Plaza Catalunya and the upper part of Las Ramblas. Staying in this apartment means getting the best of both worlds. Just a few steps north, you're in the classy Eixample district. Venture south and instantly you're surrounded by history in the Gothic quarter, or Barri Gòtic. The apartment is in a historic art deco building close to the University of Barcelona. Just a minute's walk north from the apartment is the Passeig de Gracia, the central avenue of the Eixample district. Fitting with the grandeur of the buildings and the majestic fountain in the middle, this street hosts some of the most exclusive shops in the city. And as you stroll from designer shop to department store, you happen upon some of the city's worldwide celebrities: the Gaudí buildings. A stroll south of the apartment brings you to the Barri Gòtic, the oldest part of the city. This area, which dates back to medieval times, oozes lots of character and charm.

The apartment is exactly as the web images promise--beautifully furnished and appointed. There's been real thought in making sure that everything one would need has been provided, down to the smallest detail. For once in a rental apartment there was a full slate of workable knives and pots and pans, and it was a delight to cook in this kitchen. All appliances are high end, including an induction cook top. The patio is spacious and nicely set up for al fresco diining. It's also a great location for sightseeing, being close to the old city as well as the Exeimpla and Gaudi sights. Lots of very good restaurants within an easy walk. Despite the building's location on a busy street, because the apartment faces into an inner courtyard, it's absolutely quiet. And the central air conditioning works beautifully.

We stayed at one of those beautiful and well-designed apartments late December 2008.
The apartment is very well located in the middle of all action. It is a walking distance to all interesting and great parts of town. Very close so some great restaurants attractions.
Patricia was a great host and gave us a lot of very accurate information.
The apartment was very well equipped and the building has some great design.
We would definitely come again when in Barcelona!
