This beautiful, established villa provides an ideal location for those seeking tranquillity, privacy, yet convenience. The mature gardens enhance the stunning mountain views and offer seclusion. Accommodation is spacious and modern with all home comforts and the outside covered dining area, terraces, pool and south facing sun room provide wonderful spaces to unwind and enjoy the scenery. The situation on a small, mature development surrounded by olive groves, allows a secure yet quiet environment. Road access is excellent and local supermarket, shops and restaurants are within close proximity. The coast and two 18-hole golf courses are a short drive away. For those who wish to venture further afield, Marbella, Seville, Cordoba and Granada are possible day trips as well as Nerja and the nature reserves of Montes del Malaga and Sierra de Tejeda. Please note that the upstairs master bedroom suite is not part of the rent; it is used to store the owner's personal belongings.

The property is situated on a small development, Cortijos Romero,in an area of Andalusia known as La Axaquia. It is unspoilt as rural tourism has only arrived in the last few years. It is approximately 5 minutes drive from the village of Puente Don Manuel, 10 minutes drive from the slightly larger village of La Vinuela.and is in walking distance of Lake Vinuela. There is an excellent road network 5 minutes from the Cortijos, and it is a 20 minutes drive to both the local market town of Velez Malaga and the nearest coastal resort of Torre del Mar. Malaga airport is only 45 minutes away.

Notes: The villa also has a double glazed sun room which is south facing and ideal for catching the winter sun, or sitting in cooler evenings. All windows and doors, including sun room doors, have insect screens and a stable door leads from the kitchen to the outside dining area. All rooms have electric ceiling fans, there is a wood burning fire in the lounge and a gas and electric heater are provided for cooler times of the year. As well as garden chairs, the property has two sunbeds and a large terrace umbrella. There is a carport and room to park two other vehicles. The upstairs bedroom and bathroom are not available for rent. Please bring your own beach towels. As non-smokers the owners of the villa request that visitors refrain from smoking on the property.

Additional Information: Nestled in the surrounding hills are the picturesque white villages of Alcaucín, Vinuela, Los Romanes and Periana all of which have their own distinct characteristics. The nearest town of Velez Malaga, is the region’s capital. Our nearest seaside resort, Torre del Mar, is a 20 minute drive. Nerja, a very attractive seaside town, with its famous caves, is only 25 minutes away. For those who like to venture further afield, Malaga (50 minutes) and Granada (90 minutes) are easy day trips. Malaga’s old port and Granada’s famous Alhambra are both well worth a visit. For 2009 we have kept our rates the same as for those charged in 2008.

Local Attractions: The local area has several good restaurants serving the Andalusian cuisine and there are some excellent sea food restaurants on the coast. Both Velez Malaga and Torre del Mar have a good selection of shops, large supermarkets and banks and a new shopping centre, El Ingenio, offers a wide range of fashion shops such as Zara and Mango, and the hypermarket Eroski. There is a water theme park in Torre del Mar and a Go Kart track just outside Torre del Mar There are two excellent Golf Courses nearby. The new Bavaria Golf - 15 mins drive and the more established Club Anoreta - 25 mins drive.

A top quality villa - with a super pool !

The villa is spacious, clean and comfortable, and is just as described on the web site. The owners are very helpful, answering any questions that you may have, and the directions given are very clear; the access road is good, with no rough dirt tracks, and we had no trouble finding it. The views across the valley to Mount Maroma are superb and the pool is fabulous, just the thing after a day's sightseeing and shopping !

Lake Vinuela is just over the hill and there are lots of local picturesque villages to explore, all within a few kilometres. About 15 minutes drive away is Velez Malaga; a lovely spanish town with all the shops you need and some interesting old bits of town to wander round, along with lots of excellent tapas bars for when you need a refreshment stop ! About twenty minutes from the villa there is also a big shopping centre with a wide range of stores and a massive hypermarket.

Torre del Mar is a few kilometres further on from Velez Malaga, with a wonderful long sea front promanade to walk on with lots of fish resaurants to choose from - try the freshly grilled sardines and pil-pil prawns - superb !

We would recommend this villa to anyone wanting a quiet and relaxing break, with lots to see and do within easy reach. We have thoughly enjoyed our stay.
