Bethany Beach is known as the 'Quiet Beach' relative to the coastal resort areas of MD and DE. The home is located on a canal which is excellent for kayaking access to the local state wildlife area (Assawoman Bay State Wildlife Area). It is an easy bike ride to the village, and an easy walk to the local ocean beach (Fenwick Island State Park), allowing fishing and swimming. Fishing vehicles are allowed on beach at all times with proper permits and equipment. Dogs are allowed on beach on leash. It is a 15 minute car ride to Ocean City,MD or Dewey Beach, DE and a 20 minute ride to Rehoboth Beach, DE for outlet and other major shopping. Bay View Park is a small private community located on a peninsula in the Assawoman Bay, just west of Rte 1 (Coastal Highway).

Outdoor Recreation: Crab pots are supplied for use in the canal. Drop them in in the morning with last night's chicken lips and eat fresh crabs every night. Two tandem kayaks and several bicycles are supplied. Running/ biking trails go for miles along the coastal highway - very well marked and segregated from vehicular traffic.

Ocean Beach: Several options exist for your enjoyment. The quiet ocean beach is directly across the street and an easy walk. Mom can fish while kids enjoy reading and Dad body surfs. More active beaches for the young adults exist in Ocean City, MD and Rehoboth Beach, DE. Dewey Beach is known for its young adult (21) nightlife. The village of Bethany Beach is great for the evening ice cream run if you desire to touch elbows with the summer crowds; pizza is a short bike ride away. A boutique coffee house is an easy walk or biking destination in the morning, along with a gourmet sandwich shop.

Shopping: There are many outlet malls in Rehoboth Beach, along with every other store you will need including Target, WalMart, Home Depot, Lowes, West Marine, and loads of restaurants. Food shopping (Giant and Food Lion) and alcoholic beverage stores are within 5 miles. Delaware known for its tax free shopping - great place to stock up on necessities.

Golf: Public and Private 18 and 9 hole golf courses lie within 10 miles of the center of town Bethany. Explore the many options: Salt Pond Golf Club, Bayside Golf Club, Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club, Assateague Greens Golf Center, The Links at Lighthouse Sound, Baywood Greens, and Cripple Creek Golf & Country Club.

This home is one of the nicest our family has enjoyed renting in the Bethany Beach area. The location of the home is perfect~minutes to Fenwick and the Bethany boardwalk and not far from Rehoboth for great outlet shopping and Ocean City, MD. The gourmet market within walking distance has the best chicken salad ~ and great coffees. The beach is so private and with the parking pass is easily accessible. The canal has many different types of birds to watch and enjoy. The neighborhood was very quiet with many lovely homes in it. A great place to take a bike ride or a long walk in the evening. There is not one detail spared by the owners including but not limited to beach chairs, coolers, crab pots, kayaks, bikes, a playstation and many board games and movies for those rainy days and many other extras. With 3 large master suites and two main living spaces there is privacy for everyone. The home is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The elevator made things easier for my mother and also for transporting luggage and groceries. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

Great house, great location!

Every year my family gathers from east coast and west coast to vacation together at the beach in Delaware. We have enjoyed vacations in a variety of homes in Bethany for more than 30 years. This home met all of our needs and then some.
This is a beautiful home with everything you need to have a great time at the house or at the beach. It was so nice not to have to pack the beach chairs! The elevator was wonderful for loading and unloading and really helped our older family members get to the third floor!
The neighborhood is so quiet and every person we encountered had a smile and wave. It was very easy to get to the closest beach or to go in town to a beach off the boardwalk. We are definitely looking forward to our next visit.

The vacation that went too fast

This home was asolutely wonderful. It was clean, stocked, and had everything needed for a good time. We especially liked the two (two man kyacks), the bikes, and the crab pots that got us a dozen by the end of the week. The view is wonderful and from the top deck. You can see the ocean and the bay. You can tell the owners paid a lot of attention to detail and the elevator helped out with getting things in and out of the house easily. I would recommend this place to any one wanting a vacation in Bethany Beach. Everything was close and the neighborhood was quiet. Just an enjoyable place to relax.

Best Beach House We've Ever Stayed At

This vacation rental was worth every penny, and we will definitely be going back here next year if we can! Our friends who came and stayed with us for a week at the beach couldn't stop raving about the house and the location. It's a short walk to the beach, and close to all the local beaches; Bethany, Dewey and Rehoboth.

The house itself is gorgeous and spacious enough so that the eight of us adults never felt as if we were getting in each others way. Our favorite features about the house were the balconies on ever level (particularly the one roof-level), the large kitchen (with two ovens and two sinks) and the elevator which made bringing in our luggage much easier.

What made the whole experience even better was the above-and-beyond "customer service" by the owners. They were always available for questions prior to our trip, and wanted to make sure that we had a good time while we were at their home. It was nice to know that if any problems arose, they were just a phone call away and would be glad to help us out with anything we needed.

I highly recommend this property - it's great for an adult-getaway, or if you wanted to bring your children along!

Restaurants recommended: Dogfish Head Brewery in Rehoboth Beach, Eden (more upscale/fine dining) in Rehoboth Beach.

Beautiful, Relaxing and Immaculate

Over the past 6 or 7 years a group of family and best friends have gotten together and rented various vacation homes at the shore. Some were great and some were not so great. This house was the best of the best. It was spacious, inviting, immaculate, scenic and comfortable. Everything we needed was within reasonable proximity of the house; grocery stores, shopping outlets, great restaurants, boardwalks, beaches...you name it! The owners were very concerned that we were satisfied with the accommodations and made themselves accessible for any questions or concerns that we may have had.

Since we had older family members with us, the elevator was the big hit of the house. It made it so easy to get around the house and it was perfect for bringing in luggage and groceries. The decks overlooking the canal provided some of the most beautiful and breathtaking views from early in the morning until sunset.

I could just go on and on about this house, but I won't. If you are considering this house for a vacation rental, you will need to experience it for yourself. On a scale of 1-10, our family and friends voted this a 20!
