Lazy Days River Retreat is a beautiful 14 mile drive from downtown Berkeley Springs. Along the way you will pass the breathtaking Panorama Overlook that is rated one of the top five scenic views in the USA. Historic Berkeley Springs is famous for being the country's first spa, and was frequented by George Washington. In Berkeley Springs, you can enjoy the natural mineral baths, spas, arts and crafts, antique shops, mini golf, bowling, 1930's depression-era movie theater, and restaurants. Special annual events include the Apple Butter Festival and the Festival of the Waters. The 6,000 acre Cacapon State Park offers the 18-hole Robert Trent Jones Championship Golf Course, 20 plus miles of hiking trails, mountain biking, horseback riding, swimming, fishing, picnic areas, basketball courts, tennis courts, a restaurant, and a recreation center. The cabin is 1 - 1 1/2 hours from ski resorts such as White Tail, Civil War battlefields such as Gettysburg and Antietam.

My three sisters and I had a great time. The place was clean and well stocked, the setting lovely. It was a short trip into Berkeley Springs where we enjoyed spa treatments. We didn't take advantage of the river or trails because of the heat but there was plenty of other things to do. The directions for getting there were perfect. Too bad the Panarama Rest. was closed while we were there.

My husband and I enjoyed staying in the cabin so much! The cabin and surroundings were even better than we expected. The outside and inside was immaculate and had everything we needed. We were there for only 3 nights and 4 days. Would have loved to have stayed longer. We only ventured out once for a couple hours to visit the shops and a local cafe. It was all wonderful! We look forward to coming again with some friends next time around!

My wife and I sincerely enjoyed every hour at the Lazy Days River Retreat. What an appropriate name for the property. This was an extended getaway weekend that we sorely needed. The cabin offers everything from the modern to the nastalgic. We loved the jukebox... A return trip to the 'Retreat' can't be scheduled soon enough. Great Cacapon and Berkeley Springs are great small towns with a lot of charm and many things to do/see. We look forward to coming back soon. Thank you Eric and Megan!

I have stayed at fully equipped places before but this cabin has EVERYTHING the only thing you need is groceries if you desire. The jukebox and hot tub were our two favorite items. It was nice not having me cell phone go off every 20 minutes with an email from work, I hated to leave. It was a nice weekend away before having to go to Kuwait for my job for two weeks that's for sure.

Thanks for a wonderful cabin and weekend!

Great Retreat

This is a great escape. The home was comfortable, spacious, homey and very clean. The bed in the master bedroom was the MOST comfortable bed we ever slept in. The owners went to great lengths to provide detailed information about the area. There is an extensive book and video library. Very secluded, a little trek through the mountains to sites, stores and restaurants, but doable. Lovely surroundings.
