Fantastic apartment for weekend getaway

I stayed at this apartment with two of my female friends as part of a long weekend shopping break to New York.

The apartment lived up to all our expectations. It was in a fantastic location in the lush Upper West Side. All local amenities nearby, some great restaurants and boutiques nearby.

The apartment itself was on a main street and access to the building was really easy. It was clean, bright and airy apartment with all the mod cons. We had all the facilities that we needed and the landlord was on hand should we have needed anything further.

This truly was a great place to stay - only 5 minutes from Central Park, 10 minutes to the Hudson River and 10 minutes from Fifth Avenue. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and family - it was a gem!

best vacation ever

my daughter and i visited new york in july of 2009,,we are from canada and found this condo to be in a perfect area....this was my first time staying in a rental condo instead of a hotel and i will never go back....everything in the ad is true, what is stated is at the apartment and it is exactly like the pictures....alex met us when we arrived, gave us suggestions for restaurants, transportation and other wonderful hints....we loved the location, being close to the subway made our travels within the city easy,,,we walked the neighbourhood and never felt afraid...i would rent this condo again if i ever decide to return to new york...thanks again alex for helping to make this vacation a memorable one....

Great location and facilities

We stayed at the apartment for five nights, April 6-11th 2009 - myself and my partner, his 14-year old son and my 21-year old daughter. Alex met us on arrival and gave us any information we required, including suggestions for local eating places/takeaways, and very kindly provided a 'starter pack' of muffins, juice, bread, milk, etc.
We started off by having a walk around Central Park, just around the corner, which was great after the long flight (and long queues at Newark immigation!) from Manchester, UK.
The location of the apartment is just great, whether you prefer walking for hours each day to see all the sights on foot, or if you like to jump on one of the sightseeing tour buses or the subway. The 'kids' both agreed that they loved the New York apartment experience in this particular location, and all of us would love to come back!

Comfortable apt, great location

My daughter and I spent a week in the apt and found it very comfortable, in a great location, the owners very helpful and easy to deal with. We loved the neighborhood. The apt itself is naturally small (it is NY!), but very well-planned out and very clean. The building is secure and there are lots of great places to eat and shop nearby. We will be back!

Excellent experience

My family and I spent a long weekend in NYC in June 2008. We were attending my brother's graduation, and we had a lovely time. The apartment was a "home away" from home for us, and we felt instantly comfortable from the moment we stepped in the doorway. Alex was there to greet us, and he spent a generous amount of time orienting us to the space and neighborhood and answering numerous questions. The apartment was spotless and exceptionally well-appointed with the comfort of guests in mind. The location absolutely excellent! This was my first time booking a "home" over the internet, and the process was straight-forward and easy.

The only thing that I would recommend, if you are very tall and planning to sleep on the pull-out sofa bed (my husband is 6'4"), you may wish to bring a sleeping bag and floor pad, because like all sofa beds, it is a bit short. We ended up improvising and sleeping on separate couches intact. I was completely comfortable in my 5'7ish+ frame, and my husband was reasonably comfortable. It is hard for the tall guys to find a comfy bed/ sofa in any regular hotel, and this sofa bed is no different. My parents are elderly so they got the bedroom-- and said it was very comfortable. On that note, the apartment has an elevator, so it is fine for people with walking difficulties, like my mother has.

We especially appreciated the breakfast muffins, juice and other food provisions provided by the owners. We ended up ordering take-out for dinner most of that weekend, and the owners have a stack of many local delivery restaurants available for guests, which is really useful. Check-in and check-out was handled very easily, and Alex met us upon departure.

We enjoyed this experience, and we plan to book again on our next visit to NYC.
