On the ground floor of a renovated 1890's Victorian, the apartment is well-appointed and maintained. Hardwood floors, stone counters, excellent lighting, and a compact but well-functioning kitchen. DVD/CD player and wall-mounted flat screen television. Wired Internet access. Noe Valley is a highly regarded neighborhood - known for sunny weather, walkable streets, beautiful Victorian houses, and a variety of excellent restaurants, bakeries, and shops. One could happily spend time just exploring the neighborhood, or just as easily hop onto a street car and head downtown to museums, concert halls, live theaters or cabaret. For quick farther jaunts to the East Bay or the Wine Country, freeway access to both 101 and 280 are both less than a mile away. In addition, the SFO airport takes only 15 minutes by car or a taxi ride less than $35. So whether visiting family or friends, Duncan House is a comfortable and serene 'pied-a-terre'. Happy Days in San Francisco

Our stay at Duncan House could not have been better - the owner was super friendly and helpful and ensured that our week-long stay was comfortable from beginning to end. Everything you could possibly need was within walking distance of the apartment, from local shops to great cafes and restaurants. Access to city-wide transport was also very convenient.

The one bug-bear about the property was the lack of parking for non-residents without local permits (only 2 hours allowed from Mon-Fri during office hours); this meant that we had to plan trips out of town or be available to move the car to another spot if we were hanging around, which was a bit of a pain.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Romantic Getaway

Charming Apt. in favorite SF neighborhood

My wife and I stayed at this apartment in Noe Valley with our 2-year old son this past weekend. We found the apartment to be clean, well-furnished, and as advertised. The owner - Ed - was very friendly and checking in was a breeze. The apartment is well-suited for a family with a child who needs his/her own bedroom, as it is a true 2 bedroom with a full kitchen and living/eating area. It is located a block east of Church Street, which is one of the two main streets in Noe Valley, which is one of the nicest, most walkable neighborhoods in SF. We used to live 4 blocks away before we relocated to the Central Coast of California, and we will definitely consider renting this apartment again when we come back to SF.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Tourists without a Car, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
