This is a unique home comprised of 4 separate buildings - the way homes in the Bahamas were designed years ago. The separate living spaces give great privacy to the bedrooms so every member of the family has a place to retreat! Perfect for three couples as well.

The main building is the gathering hub of the property – with great room, dining room and kitchen as well as a nice sized laundry room / pantry and a powder room. Exit the Lodge onto a spacious deck which connects the other two cottages – the Master Cottage to your right and then the guest cottage to your left. All buildings have covered porches and comfortable furnishings for lounging or entertaining.

Step down off the deck to a great grilling patio or stroll through the tropical garden paths. Center stage to all of this is the idyliic beach just a step off the boardwalk - beautiful swimming and snorkeling and a great place to walk along the beach and collect shells or go bonefishing or kayaking.

Long Island is located 165 miles southeast of Nassau, Bahamas. Daily flights are available. Flight time is approximately 45 minutes. On Long Island there are two very different coasts, 'Sunset House' is located on the one with soft white beaches and the other with rocky headlands that descend suddenly into the ocean. The terrain varies from sloping hills in the north to low hillsides, with numerous limestone caves, fading into flatlands in the south. Long Island stretches over 75 miles, with many small settlements along Queen’s Highway. The scenery from the highway changes from old buildings surrounded by stone walls, to beautiful beaches with calm blue water. One can spend the day on a remote beach with complete privacy, or tour the island and shop for pottery, woven goods, or fresh fruit. Go to lunch at an authentic island conch bar serving fresh fish, conch, and lobster. Take the time to meet the locals, becoming one with the island.

  • We accept Bank Wire Transfer and cash
  • There is an additional studio located off of the garage. This fully separate air conditioned space is very charming and includes a sitting area, bath and kitchenette on the first floor and a loft above with two twin beds.

    - Add-on charge for Studio Cottage (sleeps up to 4) -Any Season $800

    - Rental period is Sunday to Sunday. Check in time after 4pm, check-out time is before 10am.
    - security deposit = to 15% or $800 (whichever is greater)
    - a 50% deposit (or one weeks rental) is required within 7 days of booking.
    - Balance plus security deposit is due 30 days prior to arrival date. Within 30 days of departure, the balance of security less any damages, cleaning in excess of 8 hours or phone charges will be returned to you.
  • - Cancellations - due to our remote location once a reservation is booked, you are responsible for the rental period. Should you need to cancel for any reason, please call us as soon as possible as we will make every effort to rebook the rental period. If we are successful in rebooking the space, your deposit will be returned less a 15% cancellation fee

Luxory Compound Style Villa

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Beautiful private home that has all accommodations including private sleep quarters and bathrooms for 4 couples, full kitchen, 2 washer/dryers,outdoor showers, outdoor grill and much more. I would strongly recommend this vacation getaway as a romantic destination for 1 or more coulpes, older and younger people with or without children and best of all...GIRLS TRIP. There is a lot of sight seeing and adventures as well as just simply hanging out on the beach, kayaking, checking out the local bars and meeting the unique local people. I will personally make this a vacation must at least once a year and would highly receommend to all friends and families.

One of a Kind Getaway

I truly did not know what to expect when booking my trip to Long Island, but all I can say is my expectations were met beyond anything I could imagine. The lodge is an amazing, beach front property with all the amenities you could want or need. Comprising of separate, private sleeping quarters to the communal gathering area of the lodge, it provides all the comforts of being in your own home. The private beach allows for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, walking and exploring. The island itself is a wealth of endless natural beauty. Cannot speak highly enough of this property or the charm and beauty of Long Island.

wonderful stay for family gathering

Our entire family headed down to Long Island for a glorious week at this beautiful lodge. From the minute we arrived, all the details were taken care of including our pick up at the airport, our rental cars and even some food in the fridge. The lodge is actually three separate cottages - one with a beautiful living room area complete with TV and a modern well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar. The dining area looks out onto the porch which leads to the bedroom cottages. The beach was great, lovely sand, shells and great to walk each morning, and also great having the kayaks to use in the bay. The cottages are beautifully decorated. Carol knows everything about the island and was very helpful re restaurant choices , etc. We loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this beautiful lodge to anyone wanting a relaxing week - right on the beach in beautiful surroundings!

Excellent Time

The perfect quiet getaway compound with its own wonderful beach convenient to some fantastic kayaking or just soaking up those Caribbean rays. It would be easy enough to never leave the beach at all, but then, the character and unspoiled nature of Long Island is not to be missed. The local watering holes and cuisine are refreshingly unhurried, uncommercial and full of rustic island charm and hospitality. Not only would I recommend this spot to anybody thinking about heading South for some sun and r&r, we can't wait to get back!--Shawn and Betsy, Fayston, VT
