Welcome to the Pinecone Condo, our newly renovated retreat at Tamarron, 17 miles north of Durango and 10 minutes from the Purgatory/Durango Mountain Resort Ski area. Downstairs is a private queen bedroom with attached bath, plus a living room, kitchen and dining area, and large deck. Upstairs is a large loft with 2 queen beds and another bathroom. Folding doors close off the loft for privacy at night. There is a TV/DVD on each level. The rustic furniture and bedding are brand new, with memory foam mattress toppers for added comfort. Your stay includes use of the Pool, Jacuzzis, Sauna, and Spa Services in the main lodge. Enjoy fine dining and a deli on site. A small lake and horse stable are 1/4 mile away, and you can catch the D&SNGR Train right down the road. Cross country skiing/snowshoeing/tubing are just minutes away. Just pack your toothbrush and come have fun!

Durango lies at the base of the San Juan Mountains, a spectacular region of high peaks, old mining towns, lakes, waterfalls and meadows full of wildflowers. The pristine Animas River runs right through town! You can swim, raft, float, or kayak on it. Mild sections are safe for family fun, and wild sections are great for adventurous types. Hiking, biking, horseback riding, shopping and fabulous restaurants are all part of the Durango scene. Get a massage and soak in the Trimble Hot Springs, and don't forget to ride the famous Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad for some Old West fun. Nearby day trips include the Mesa Verde archaeological ruins, and the old mining towns of Silverton and Ouray. All seasons are beautiful in Durango, and the friendly locals will make you feel very welcome.

My family of 6 just left this condo and begged for more! We travel every Spring break and Summer. This was by far one of the most enjoyable, convenient locations we have ever used. The condo was so homey! It really did feel like ours! Perfect size, private bedroom for parents!! Everything we needed was there in the kitchen, baths and laundry room. Thanks so much for a lovely home away from home!!! We'll definitely use this every year. When our kids wanted to go to Durango Mountain before us, they rode the free, safe shuttle and we would catch up with them. The use of the sauna, massages, pool and restaurants were added bonuses that kept us from running into town for entertainment. We really relaxed and enjoyed ourselves!!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

This is a fabulous place for families with young kids! There were toys, videos, books, games... I didn't have to pack any of that! (And new stuff is always fun to explore!) We liked the pool and hot tubs at the lodge too. Durango itself is an excellent family destination: we enjoyed the railroad, the indoor water park in town, local hot springs (we liked Pagosa best), the alpine slides, and the hiking. Owners are very friendly and helpful in planning your trip. We strongly recommend.

Absolutely amazing condo, location, complex . . . We truly felt at home. Every convenience needed was in the kitchen, baths & laundry room. We were there with 4 kids and didn't feel crowded - ever! 2 TVs was an added bonus. The location is perfect! We've stayed in town and on Purgatory Mountain. This was the best of both worlds. Perfectly between both!! We highly recommend it and will definitely be back. Anyone would love the view, condo, location, pool, spa, massages, restaurant and ease of renting this place!!

We were very pleased with our stay at the Pinecone property in Tamarron. The condo was clean, comfortable, and had all the creature comforts to make us feel "at home" for our stay. The staff at Tamarron was very hospitable, and the shuttle to the ski area was very convenient. A great value that I would recommend for your mountain vacation.

Great little retreat!

This was a great condo. Clean and light. Nice kitchen area (coffee maker, microwave, even a dishwasher)! I also appreciated that there was a washer/dryer in the unit. The unit was very clean and comfortable, as well as quiet. A short distance to walk to the lodge. My husband skiis - just a short drive up the hill. It was a very comfortable place to stay and definitely felt like a home away from home! We will be back!
