Bring your own toilet paper!

I choose this apartment based on all the excellent reviews it received. However, we were greatly disappointed.
First, the carpet was filthy! It had too many stains to be counted and it had certainly seen better times. The apartment smelled.
Second, we arrived to discover a tiny bit of toilet paper available. We reserved for 3 weeks so two days later we had to ask the owner to provide us with more. The owner grudgingly agreed and supplied us with another 2 rolls. We are a family of 3 and, of course, soon we needed more. So I asked again. This time the owner asked me to provide them with evidence that toilet paper came with the apartment! I directed them to this site. Only after that the owner provided more toilet paper.
In addition to the toilet paper, most things promised on this site were missing (soap, laundry detergent, paper towels, shampoo).
Although internet connection was promised, it didn't work for the first 5 days of us being there. That was a major inconvenience as we were using the apartment as a temporary residence and needed to look for a permanent home.
You would think the owner would be apologetic for all these inconveniences and would want to make it up to us. But no. When I asked if we could move out on Saturday AM instead of Friday because of needed help for that move, the answer was a firm "no" (or pay another $100).
It also took us 10 days to finally get our security deposit back. And that only happened after I asked for it 5 times!
In short, I would not recommend this apartment.
Owner's Response: First, she checked in before she paid- I had accepted this because she arrived to late on Saturday to be able to deposit the money in my account. She supposed to pay by wire transfer, but she didn’t.
At the check in time, she realized that the internet didn’t’ work, but it was a problem from the provider not from me, like she said in one of the e-mail. It was on Saturday- when I called immediately the provider and he fixed on Tuesday morning.
In one of her e-mail she mentioned that the cleaning leady brought the detergent, the toilet paper, the paper towels, and the napkins.
Charging her in addition for one night it was normal, taking in consideration that she paid 5 days after her check in.
Her first question when she start the booking process was that if small pets are allowed ,and she brought it in the apartment. Of course after her checkout I had to change the carpet in the all apartment in order to clean everything up after her dog.Now in the apartment we have brand new carpet!
Regarding the security deposit I had returned to her cash given that I was travelling to Europe as I told her through the e-mail.
In conclusion, as you see here I tried all my best to have this client happy, as you have seen in all other testimonials. Thank you for your business and take care.
