A Month at Innisfree

My company had the pleasure of renting Innisfree from the middle of May through the middle of June to accommodate nine people. Upon arriving the first thing that struck me is the absolutely magnificent view you have from this house. From every deck, from every building, you have an incredible panoramic view of the ocean and the island. It's something unfortunately I cannot describe in words.
Upon arriving by ferry on the island, Rich, who was the caretaker of the house at the time met us and took us up to the house while pointing out some of the important things we would need such as the nearest grocery store, atm, and other necessities. Rich was very laid back and was the perfect welcome to the island. He gave a clear and concise tour of the house so that we knew how to work and find everything and left us to enjoy. The house was clean, well maintained and ready to be occupied.
We were given Rich's cell phone number should anything come up, which it did given the fact we were there for a month. Every time , Rich was available and if needed came up to the house immediately to fix whatever problem we had. We only needed Rich to come to the house once in the entire month because of an island wide power outage, other than that everything worked incredibly smoothly.
There was a lot of very expensive equipment in the house while we were on the island so security was of particular concern for us while away. After the month at the house I can say that it was very safe and we never had any disturbances.
If you dive or want to go off-shore snorkeling I would suggest going to Low Key Watersports, we spent quite a bit of time with the staff diving and snorkeling and can say they are fun and first rate. The entire downtown scene is vibrant and fun so I'd suggest going down, parking and just walk around exploring. Mongoose Junction is great for shopping especially the Caravan Gallery if you're looking for some amazing local artisan's jewelry. You must stop at Woody's bar as it is a staple on the island.
The beaches are a short drive away, there are the touristy ones that get more people or you can stop by the more local beaches. These are more private and I think more beautiful, I would suggest Gibney Beach or the incredibly gorgeous Solomon Beach (a bit of a hike).
In all, we had an amazing stay at Innisfree and the only thing that would stop me from recommending it would be the fact that I want it available next time I'm on St. John.
