Greenwich Village is the city's best neighborhood -- small streets and small houses, amazing little shops -- everything from snooty fashion stores and exclusive night spots to wonderful neighborhood butchers, cheese and other speciality shops. From here you can explore all of downtown without getting on a bus or train -- West Village, Greenwich Village, Soho, East Village, Chinatown, Tribeca and Union Square, as well as Hudson River Park, are all within walking distance. But should you care to venture uptown or across the river, we are within a block of ten different subway lines.

Notes: Parlor Apartment -- Walk one flight up to your private studio apartment on the second floor. Twelve-foot ceilings, the original wide-plank oak floors and some original moldings will keep you in a nineteenth-century state of mind, as will the old-fashioned hexagon tile floor in the bathroom, kitchen and dining area. An antique iron bed supports an all-natural latex mattress (like memory foam but not full of chemicals so you can sleep healthy!). Tall windows look out onto Jones Street; a small window in the kitchen reveals the buildings behind; and the bathroom window looks down on our tiny soon-to-be-garden. You'll also find a corner to read, a small TV and an air conditioner in hot weather, small closet and antique dresser for your clothes.

AMAZING find!

I loved every minute in this lovely apartment. It is in the best location and it feels so nice to feel local in the big city.

Clost to subway lines, easy to find, and in a darling neighborhood with everything you need within steps of the apartment.

The perks to staying here are the customer service and personal attention you get from the owners. From the courtesy voucher to their darling and delicious cafe, to an extensive list of local restaurants, salons, walks and parks you feel like more than a guest - a friend.

My other stay in NYC was a 5 story walkup, so the easy access to this apartment was especially convenient in comparison.

5 stars and a passionate reccommendation to stay at this apartment! I will be back:)

We loved it!!

Thanks to Evelyn and her family, the room cleaning ladies and the girls in DOMA Cafe!
We, two best friends having their yearly girl's time, had a great vacation!!! Jones Street is in the center of 'bohemian life' - every morning in DOMA we saw artists drawing, interesting discussions around....
Everything you need is nearby. And it is a perfect place to start sightseeing - downtown, uptown... you are just in the middle of everything.
We loved the restaurants (tried the Thai Isle, an Italian nearby, the Sushi restaurant Ido on the Seventh, yummy Suhi-take-away on Bleeckers...). DOMA is a perfect place to start the day: good coffee, yummy bagels and really good French Toast...! And we loved the beautiful streets around. My favorite street is Bleecker St. so far - great shops.
We had the First Floor apartment, and it provides anything you need. The latex mattress was very good, we slept very well (despite the noises outside on some evenings - best pubs and restaurants nearby, so you cannot avoid that).
On our last day, Evelyn recommended the flea and craftwork market in the neigbourhood. That was brilliant, made our luggage again heavier...:-)
We had three days bad luck with the weather, but in whole it was a wonderful week in NYC! Hope to come back soon - and I think I need to stay in Greenwich Village again:-))
Thanks a million!
P.S.: If you arrive in Newark it is just 25-40 minutes (depending on traffic) by Taxi to Perry St or Jones St!

It could not have been better!

This was our first time in New York and we absolutely loved this place as well as the city itself. The studio is clean, cute and comfortable. I would recommend this to anyone.
From this appartement you have everything just outside your door; restaurants, shops, bars, you name it. But don´t let that stop you from exploring the rest of the city. We walked approximately for 5 hours a day, to just see and feel the city, and shop of course. Rare bar and grill (on Bleeker st) have burgers to die for and if you like beer you must visit Spritzers corner (corner of Ludlow st and Rivington st), it takes approx. 30 min to walk (or take the subway) but it´s well worth it, they have a beerlist a mile long.
Doma café is very nice as well and they serve great breakfasts.
To cut a long story short: We will definitely be back!
