Añasco: Añasco- For Rent. Beautiful beach front apartment. Enjoy the most spectacular sunset of the west coast of Puerto Rico. In the horizon you could see Desecheo Island and the coast of Rincon. Just steps from 3 Hermanos beach. Only minutes from Mayaguez and Rincon. The first feeling you will have there is peace. Everyday you will find the treasures of nature such as sea turtles, pelicans and all kinds of sea birds. Containing 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, living room, dining room, kitchen and balcony. The city “Where the Gods Died.” Taíno Indians drowned a Spanish soldier to prove the Spaniards were not gods. With proof in hand, this led to the Indian rebellion of 1511. Today Añasco is known for its “hojaldre cake” (filled with brandy and spices), the “chipe” clam and the second largest plaza on the Island. A little farther on is the Balneario Tres Hermanos. This facility completes the chain of surfing beaches and areas that start in Isabela.
Attractions & Sights El Mirador de la Bahía: A 3-story lookout tower on a small cliff overlooking the Añasco Bay. Rt 115, just south of Rt 109. 24/7. El Salto de la Encantada: A boardwalk with a waterfall & picnic area. Rt 402 Km 1.8. Daily 9am-5pm. Parque de Diversiones El Castillo: An amusement park with the largest wave pool in the Caribbean, a medieval castle, antique museum, haunted house and other attractions for kids. Rd 109 Km 1.7, Bo Añasco Arriba. Wed.-Sun, 9:30am-4:30pm. Parroquia San Antonio Abad: The original church, built around 1765, was replaced by the current structure in 1801. It has a beautiful 8-foot stained glass window above the front door. The bell tower includes 800- and 500-pound bells along with a number of smaller bells from the original church. If closed, stop at Rectory. Plaza Jose Adolfo Pesante: In the center of this tree-lined plaza you will find a sculpture depicting the famous drowning of the Spanish soldier. Barceló St. 24/7.
