Within a 20 mile radius there are many restaurants, and pubs, serving various types of cuisine. There are none that require coat and tie. Within 5 miles of the house are at least 5 different restaurants: The Boiler Room, Dick's, The Covered Wagon, The Far East, The Sunday River Brewing Company, Sam's, Rowe's Drive-In and many more pizza and take out type foods. There is a Cinema in Bethel which is quite handy
Sports:
Within one-half hour of the house there are three family ski areas: Black Mountain of Maine, Sunday River, and Mount Abram. There are separate areas for x-country skiing and snowmobiling with excellently groomed trails. Within the same distance, there are three golf courses; two championship courses: Sunday River and Bethel Country Club, and a nine hole Oakdale Country Club in Mexico. Fishing, hunting, swimming, white water rafting, and boating are all within reach during the correct seasons
