Woodland #1, our pet-friendly vacation property in Gearhart, Oregon, 80 miles west of Portland, is located in a quiet, wooded residential neighborhood. It's a two minute drive directly onto an expansive beach along the Pacific Ocean, where vacationers can park their vehicles and enjoy a day at the beach. Seaside, Oregon, with its carnival-like atmosphere, is a five minute drive to the south and Astoria, Oregon, with its bohemian feel and historical background, is a fifteen minute drive to the north. This single level house, which sits on a 10,000 square foot lot, was built by one of the area's best builders, Johnson Home Building, in 2007. It has hardwood floors, granite counter tops, alder cabinets, high quality appliances, travertine tile, an open living room/dining area, a romantic master suite and very comfortable beds. The north coast of Oregon is one of the most scenic vacation sites on the planet. Spectacular ocean vistas, beautiful beaches, moderate weather and friendly people await your arrival. Abundant wildlife, including extensive deer and elk populations, are frequently seen up close. Bald eagles, hawks, blue herons, sea lions and whales can also be seen in this area. Woodland #1 is a new single family house on a quiet street in the northern part of Gearhart, Oregon. Gearhart has two fine public golf courses, a bowling alley, a variety of specialty shops and a number of restaurants. Gearhart is positioned between Seaside (3 miles south) and Astoria (15 miles north), allowing our guests to take advantage of the proximity of both locations. Astoria, the end of the Lewis & Clark trail, is the oldest town west of the Mississippi River. Seaside is a beach town which has a fun, amusement park-like atmosphere during the summer season.

Notes: High definition TV with premium movie channels, NFL Sunday Ticket (all Sunday football games) and the NBA League Pass (all NBA games) are included with the rental. The TV in the living room can also be used as a computer monitor for presentations, computer games, etc.. The living room has a convertible sofa that opens into a queen size bed. Free local and long distance calling, excluding pay for service numbers and international calling, are included as part of the rental. There are desks in both the living room and master bedroom. Smoking is not permitted in the house but is allowed on the covered porch areas provided windows and doors are closed. A maximum of two pets are welcome. The house has a fenced yard with 5 foot chain link fence. The washer and dryer are in a separate laundry room, not in the kitchen.

There were 5 of us who stayed for a week in July 2009. Had a really good time. The house was well laid out and had lots of room.
We really enjoyed the hot tub, we used it every day. The kitchen
was beautiful and well equipped. The house sat on a dead end street so it was quiet, even though it was a block from the hwy.
Over all we had a great experience, the only thing we agreed on was that there was no bin(s) for recycling! We had to throw every thing away....shame.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, People with Disabilities, Romantic Getaway

Fabulous house. They didn't cut corners on this place. Well stocked kitchen, lots of towels, very clean, comfy beds, lots of room, huge master bedroom with large closet that can be used for extra sleeping space. Would definitely stay here again.

Great Place for a family

This met our needs in every way possible. The amenities of having a pet friendly, wireless, perfect layout vacation rental was wonderful. We brought my aging parents and had them stay in the master bedroom with their own bathroom. That worked well. The owners were very communicative and helpful. We went clam digging just north of Gearhart and so the location was great. We would highly recommend.
