Welcome to Pikku Suomi or 'Little Finland'. Floor to ceiling windows look out on evergreen & birch woods to a beautiful & secluded cove just beyond. This all-season house features a custom-built kitchen by Fine Artist of Perry, Maine & a luxurious open floor plan that rises to a large master bedroom. Over an acre of land & 200 feet of waterfront provide a wonderful sense of privacy & contemplation. The 6,675 acres of Lake Meddybemps support some of the best fishing in the state of Maine. Make sure to bring your kayak or canoe. There is also a private boat launch for larger boats just a short walk away. The seacoast of Maine is nearby for dining on lobster or whale-watching. So whether you are a birder, fall foliage enthusiast or cross-country skier, wherever you decide to venture, you will love returning to “Little Finland”- truly a Maine vacation paradise.

    For weekend/nightly rentals, we will work to accommodate your needs for check-in/check-out.

Leashing is advised unless you have great control of your dog. There are other homes in the vicinity of our home, and renter's dogs must not become a nuisance to neighbors. 5. Dog owners need to keep dogs from digging - the house and grounds are within a conservation protection area, and the ground is easily damaged. 7. Dog owners will take full legal and monetary responsibility for damage or injury caused by their dogs.

Pikku Suomi is a wonderful location for autumn and winter activities - biking, hiking, snow shoeing, bird-watching, paddling, ice fishing, star-gazing.

We totally enjoyed our stay at the your lake house. The home is beautiful and we loved every aspect of it.

It was clean and well appointed.

We have been coming to Maine for many years and this was one of our most enjoyable vacations ever!

Pikku Suomi is a beautiful, clean, recently built and well appointed cabin. We enjoyed a very relaxing stay and especially enjoyed being right on Meddybemps Lake. The weather was a nice break from the Texas heat! Stephen and Patricia were great to work with - when we return to Maine, we definitely want to stay at Pikku Suomi again.

A Peaceful Sanctuary

My wife and I had a great week at your home. It was refreshing to walk into a home that was as clean and well kept as our own. The lake was thoroughly enjoyed by us and our dog. She swam in the lake every day. The fishing was plentiful and and the views were inspiring. Thanks again for sharing your home with us!!

Our Stay on Meddybemps Lake at Pikku Suomi

I would like to take the time to thank Pat & Steve for sharing their home on Meddybemps Lake. We were there for two weeks in August and a week in September of 2008.. I spent all my summers on the lake as a child so for me it was incredible to be able to be return and experience the lake as we near retirement.

We found the home to be perfect. It was clean and well maintained. We found the kitchen well stocked, dining area and living room were set up for comfort and conversation, bedrooms comfy, nice linens and the deck had lots of seating. The outside is nicely landscaped. Having a dock made it perfect for sitting and kayaking. My brother had loaned us his fishing boat so we were able to explore the lake. A word of caution if you are new to the area check with the locals as the lake has many hidden rocks.

The house works well for adults, babies or older teenages but we wouldn't reccomend for young children as there is no real beach area for them to play although if you have a boat you may go to the ridge which has a terrific beach for children.

We found the neighbors friendly and quiet.My sister-in-law and I took a walk on the nature trail. It is a great hike but remember to wear insect repellent,hiking boots and jeans to keep the mosquitos at bay.

We live out in Washington but plan to stay again. We found Pat and Steve great to work with. They respond quickly to any questions or concerns.
