New Cape style house nestled in a private peaceful forested area. Beautiful kitchen, sitting room, and living/dining room for reading and relaxation. Quiet, bright and comfortable. Enjoy the screened-in porch spring, summer, or fall. 5 minutes to Woodstock village or a short drive to Saugerties, Kingston, New Paltz or Rhinebeck for restaurants, galleries, boutiques and antique stores. Other attractions include the Bard College Fisher Center for Performing Arts, Maverick Concerts in Woodstock and the Saugerties HITS (Horses in the Sun) horse show. Easy access to Hunter, Windham, and Belleayre ski areas as well as many outdoor recreational options in the Catskill Mountains. and Hudson River area.

Recreational opportunities abound (hiking, fishing, cycling/ mountain biking, skiing, snowboarding, boating, sailing, tubing, bird watching, etc.) Cultural activities include art galleries, live performances at Bard College Fisher Center and other local venues. Enjoy antique shopping as well as fine boutiques in Woodstock, Kingston, Saugerties, New Paltz and Rhinebeck. Historic sites include Hudson River Mansions (Vanderbilt, Mills, Montgomery Place and Olana), Senate House in Old Kingston, and Hugenot houses in New Paltz. In the summer, visit the Saugerties HITS (horse show). Festivals include the Woodstock Film, Sheep and Wool, Garlic and Crafts.

The deposit will be returned within 14 days of your departure provided all provisions in the contract are met.

Festivals: The fall offers a variety of festivals. The Woodstock Film Festival provides numerous venues for viewing of independent films and discussion panels. The Garlic Festival is held in Saugerties offering wonderful edibles. The Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck is fabulous for those avid knitters. New Paltz Craft Fair is held Memorial day weekend. Rhinebeck Fairgrounds also hosts an extensive craft fair.

Hudson River: The Hudson River is only 15 minutes away. Beachcomb at low tide at Ulster Landing Park or hike on the various trails in the park. Swimming in the summer at Ulster Landing. Other public access points include Kingston Point Park, Sleightsburg Spit in Port Ewen, and the Saugerties Light House Conservancy. For boaters, enjoy kayaking, sailing, windsurfing or motor boats on the Hudson. Other kayaking possibilities are available on tributaries of the Hudson.

Biking/skiing: The area is fabulous for mountain biking and road cycling. Local mountain biking opportunities include Jockey Hill, Onteroa Lake State Forest, Wilson State Park, Minnewaska State Park and Mohonk Preserve, as well as some areas in the Catskills. There are several ski resorts in the Catskill Mountains ( Belleayre, Hunter, or Windham).

Even better than described

We had a great experience at this house, and it was even better than I expected from the pictures or description. Some of the highlights include:
- More space than expected
- Property is new
- Very clean
- Kitchen was well set-up
- No bad surprises
- Only one neighbor partially visible, otherwise the house is secluded in woods

The downstairs bathroom has a clear glass door, which wasn't a problem once we established a few ground rules (if the door was closed, no walking by). The water pressure was pretty low, so when the downstairs bath is in operation, no water reaches the upstairs shower (we learned this the hard way, but again, planning avoids any problems). None of the windows are curtained, so when you wake up, you're in the tree canopy and all you see is leaves. The two living/sitting areas were useful when one group wanted to watch the football game and the other didn't. The house had plenty of room to spread out, both inside and out.

We were in the area to bike, and were able to ride out from the house on every ride. It's around 10 minutes (driving) to Woodstock, and the nearest convenience store is under 5 miles away.

I would stay here again and recommend it.
