Upper East Side holiday apartment

Very clean, was met on time by owner's assistant to get into the apartment. Apartment is in a great location with central park and the subway both within 2 blocks. very quiet in the area at night. would definitly use again if i travel to new york

This is a good place to stay when visiting NYC, but it's perhaps not the best option for those who are fairly detail oriented and particular about the little things.

It was in the perfect location for us. We always felt very safe coming to and from the place, and it was so convenient to take the subway or to walk. The neighbourhood is beautiful, and it's close to good shopping and some restaurants.

Inside, it was clean and the extra air mattress was ready for us as requested. The place is generally pretty nice: the bed is a little funny, but it's fine. A couch would be nice, but the lack of one wasn't really an issue for us. The dishwasher had dirty dishes in it when we arrived, and we perhaps had the same bar of soap that the other reviewer mentioned, but we brought our own soap and just added our dishes to the rack.
There was a coffee maker and ice cube trays in the kitchen, and towels in the bathroom.
Most of the things about the place were fine, and anything else seemed more funny/odd than seriously negative. (Including the random framed photos and personal effects left in the bedside table drawer.)
All in all, it was a good place for us to stay, if you don't take the details too seriously. It was safe, clean, comfortable enough, had nice enough decorations, etc. It's perfect to get to Central Park, and there was even a TV show being filmed right outside the front step one day.
You shouldn't expect fancy, but it's definitely a good place to use as a home base while you explore New York.

Great location, just two blocks from Central Park, and located on the 9th floor overlooking a quiet courtyard at the back of a lovely building. The apartment was spacious, clean, and interestingly furnished. There were, however, some glaring deficiencies. Most annoying, there was no couch in the living room - and the only TV was in the bedroom. More minuses: no clock radio (or even a clock); no ice cube trays; no toaster; no dishwasher detergent; no iron (when I asked for one, Nick suggested that perhaps I could "buy one.") On
the plus side, after reading the previous review about the lack of coffee maker, I did ask for one before we arrived and a new one appeared. Maybe you'll have better luck with some of the above items which seem pretty basic for any short term rental. If not, you can still have a great time if you don't mind room temperature drinks, broiling your bagles, wrinkled clothes, and only watching TV in bed!

A last note: be sure to clarify when deposit will be returned or perhaps provide a stamped self-addressed envelope for its return. I had to call for mine, and was told it would be located and torn up, but I'd rather have had the check mailed back.
