Manuel Antonio holiday villa

My husband and I and our two teenagers really enjoyed our stay at Villa Chaman 6. We found the condo to be comfortable and well-equipped with nice ammenities such as beach towels, a package of coffee and a small library. I spent an hour or more reading Fodor's Costa Rica. We saved money cooking meals in the fully equipped kitchen. It was great to have use of the washer and dryer and not have to pack wet swim suits. The grounds and pool are nicely maintained. The jungle surrounding the complex was a show in itself! We saw monkeys, sloths, toucans, iguanas and crabs. The kids loved spending time spotting animals each morning and evening.
The condo is a short ride to both Quepos and Manuel Antonio. The area is beautiful! Don't miss the national park. A tour guide is a must for spotting animals! The beaches are great too. The kids had the best time body surfing in the sizeable waves.
On the downside, we do feel we missed out on the hospitality and expertise of Bev and Larry who were not there during our stay. The property manager met us on our first day and was rather terse in answering our questions about the area and seemed in a rush to leave. We felt like we were an inconvenience to him. We were on a tight schedule the day we departed and had to wait a considerable amount of time for his mother who was to retrieve the keys and return our deposit even after 2 phone calls inquiring as to her whareabouts. His father finally met us at the complex gate. Again, we felt like we were an inconvenience.
With that said, the positives out-weighed the negatives and we would return to Villa Chaman 6--a nice place and a great value.
