Mountainair is just ten miles east of Two Ponyz where you will find antiques, cafes, art galleries, a grocery store, post office, soda fountain, drugstore and the National Monument Visitors Center.

Heaven on earth

With no exaggeration, having traveled this state extensively, I can say that Two Ponyz Ranch is one of the loveliest spots in New Mexico. The location is breathtaking; you'll enjoy sunrise over the Manzano Mtns with your coffee every morning, and whether you like to just stay put and hike the area (with Sadie the dog by your side), ride horseback into the Cibola National Forest, or take a few day trips and experience NM history, it's all there waiting! The casita is warm, inviting, and very comfortable; Karen's attention to detail leaves nothing to chance, and we felt instantly at home. If you have horses, this place is perfect, the barn, stalls and corrals are outstanding, and what a place to ride!! Just a short drive away is Mountainair, a quirky NM town that deserves a closer look. Also, the Abo, Gran Quivera, and Quaro ruins are all nearby and well worth the trip. I was also impressed with Karen and Adam's committment to sustainable land and water use, so important in NM! I would recommend this property to anyone looking for the perfect NM vacation; Two Ponyz is why it's called The Land of Enchantment!

A special quiet place

The Two Ponyz casita was perfect. Clean, superbly furnished and so quiet. What a beautiful sight every morning watching the sun light up the Manzano Mountains with horses grazing in the foreground. Hiking adjacent to the ranch on National Forest land. Great dark skies for my husband’s telescope. Did not need to turn on the AC on at all – cooled off wonderfully every night. Karen was very congenial and helpful. Stayed 5 nights and will return for more!

Great for the Ponies

Wonderful For People And Horses

Was lucky to find this special place. The guest house has all the ammenities of a 5 Star hotel and more. The views are spectacular at this quiet remote location. Being so close to the National Forest made hiking and horse back riding memorable experiences. Speaking of horse back riding, the barn was new and clean. Our horses were given exceptional care. Only 10 miles from Mountainair and close to historic ruins. A place we look forward to visiting again.

Wish we could have stayed longer

I agree with the first reviewer about hospitality. We were delighted to find how well we were taken care of while there - everything we could need in the kitchen and bath; nice, fluffy towels; fresh flowers; even a little gift for our anniversary! If you are looking for someplace private and quiet and comfortable, this would be it.

We were also impressed with the owners' commitment to energy, land and water conservation, animal care (beautiful horses and happy dog - I would not hesitate to board my horses there, by the way) and, overall, attention to detail about every aspect of their property and business.

There are great walking, horseback riding, mtn. biking opportunities right in the area also. No need to get back in the car and travel more - you can just walk down the road to get to some lovely areas.
