Tamarindo is know for surfing and there are many different options in the area. Tamarindo Beach has an easy beach break and is the beach right in town. Avellanas, Playa Negra and Playa Grande all have great surfing with less crowds. Also, you can take a boat trip to Witches Rock/Ollies Point. Tamarindo is a very central spot that gives you a variety of beaches and breaks. It also has great restaurants and fun nightlife so you have the best of both worlds! There is so much to do in this area -- fishing, sailing, canopy tours, ATV excursions, volcano viewing, scuba diving, snorkeling, or just sit on the beach!
