This home is located just inside the City limits of Oxford, very near the intersection of Jackson Avenue West and Highway 6, so it is close to everything. The neighborhood is quiet with this home located on a spur with virtually no thru traffic. We have a cable package that includes everything Vista Media (local provider) will sell, including pay-for-view. We have the XBOX 360 and a stash of HALO III games, along with the internet hookup (and joysticks for three). The office above the garage is equipped with a fax machine, printer/scanner/copier. You will need to bring your own laptop. The internet service is wireless. The house sits on a three acre lot that is mostly wooded but includes a large open area in the back enclosed with a 6 foot privacy fence. The back deck stretches the length of the house extra wide and has gating that can be attached to further restrict children. We have extra seating, besides the built in benches and serving table for entertaining.

If you are on this site, you don't have to be 'sold' on Oxford or the surrounding area but, as natives we have our favorite places our friends and family must see. Don't come to Oxford in a hurry. Give yourself time to see it before or after the crush of a football game when it is normal and not a circus. Eat at Taylor Grocery. Be sure and find Yocona River Inn. Both places are in the county. Remember the county is dry but you can bring your own 'bag'. Try not to drive everywhere! Park near the square, go up to the second floor of Square Books, get a cup of something, and sit on the porch and watch the folks, then start walking. Walk down South Lamar, or better yet, one street west to Rowan Oak, Faulkner's home. Take the trail behind his house to where it comes up behind the baseball field. Walk to the Lyceum (bullet holes), then find the Confederate Cemetery behind Tad Smith Coliseum. Pay your respects then take University Avenue and doglegging on Van Buren to the POB.
