A wonderful Fort Lauderdale home

Our family had a great time staying in this first rate house during the week our 3 kids (14, 10, 10) had for spring break. The photos and descriptions are very accurate, and the owner (Carol) is very open and communicative. If you have a question, just ask and she will give you the info you need. A few points where the website can't give you the full picture: 1. This home is in an extremely nice, quiet and convenient neighborhood. You are close to everything, but in a calm and friendly setting. The beach (which really is just steps away) is uncrowded and the groups there (at least during our stay) were all families, small groups, retired couples and "good neighbors." You're just a few blocks from the "main drag" of A1A, but lightyears away in comfort and tranquility. 2. The pool and yard are every bit as nice as they look on the website and if you didn't have so much else to do in the area, you could have a great vacation just hanging out there. 3. Although we didn't realize it until we got there, the house is very close to the last stop on the "water taxi" line--you can walk, bike, or take an easy drive down there, hop on the water taxi and go to many of the main attractions, restaurants and shopping while sightseeing along the way. And the restaurants and clubs near that stop offer something for everyone, including the college kids and younger adults who might be looking for a little more excitement or to get away from the "old folks and little kids." 4. Unlike some rentals that we've had, this house does have almost everything you could need. Beach towels and chairs, paper goods, dishwashing and laundry detergent, etc. We particularly enjoyed that Carol and previous renters had a well stocked spice cabinet to make cooking interesting; we left a few things too. 5. It's really easy to get to Dophins Stadium and the Bank Atlantic Center if you're a sports fan. 6. If you are going to do some driving to the sites around South Florida, get a map or print out your directions/web maps. I didn't always think 95, 75 and 595 were as well marked as they could have been. 7. Most of all, come prepared to have fun. You most definitely will.
