Contact us for our web address with videos, much information and dozens of picture. Fall and Winter Special - Friends stay for free - 3rd and 4th guests stay for free. Bookings after 11/09/09. We're close to Samara but not too close. That means less noise - especially in the evenings, more privacy, fewer bugs and cooler temperatures than at the beach. You're much closer to the nature you want to see. Your casa was designed for comfort in the tropics, with a private shaded terrace. Sea breezes keep the house cool. Just above one of the prettiest and quiet white sand beaches in Costa Rica, Casa el Mango enjoys cooling ocean breezes and terrific Pacific ocean views. Pristine, and less developed than many northern Guanacaste resort towns, Samara provides a more laid back and romantic atmosphere. It is not only a charming beach village, with a wide choice of restaurants and activities, but it is also a thriving fishing and farming community. Fishing boats return to the harbor at sunset. Cattle and horses wander the wooded trails. Children walk to school along the beach in their crisp uniforms. Samara is surrounded by world-class surfing beaches, many almost deserted, while its own bay provides safe swimming and beginning surfing with its protective reef and 4 surf schools. Local guides offer tours for dolphin & whale watching, active volcanoes, sailing, fishing, snorkeling, rafting and kayaking, zip-line canopy tour. Samara's reef-protected bay provides safe swimming and snorkeling. Learn to surf from one of 4 surf schools right in the bay and world-class waves nearby. There is abundant wildlife in the trees around the house. Wake up to the roar of the Howler monkeys or the call of the green parrots as they make their twice daily pass to nesting sites up the hill. There is a zipline canopy tour nearby. Best birding in the area is from the terrace. Samara has shops, post office, police station, groceries, internet cafes, doctor, pharmacy, many good restaurants, and 'sodas' (Tico for cafe). The beach is quiet and gorgeous. It is nearly empty most of the week, except in the mornings when the children walk to school. Casa El Mango shares a 'get cool' pool and a spacious covered rancho with Casa la Papaya, also available for vacation rental. Up the hill is Casa el Gecko, also occasionally for rent. Reserve one, two, or all three houses for an unforgettable tropical gathering.

Samara, and all of Costa Rica, is booming. Casa el Mango is well located away from the downtown noise in a mixed international/tico neighborhood along a paved road. The evenings are quiet and serene, with amazing star shows and the sounds of night animals. Dawn approaches with visits from monkeys, parrots, other wildlife and maybe a neighborhood rooster. We stayed in both Mango and Papaya and really enjoyed both. There
were two of us in Mango and it was perfect. Very clean, comfortable,
and great patio and view. There were four when we moved to Papaya and it was also very nice. I would suggest Mango if only two guests. The pool and rancho were very nice. The hill seems daunting when you first arrive, but we walked to and from Samara each day to attend classes and had no problem. The monkey action was unbelievable. The owners and staff were great and very helpful. We had a wonderful 3 week stay.

We arrived March 16 and stayed 3 nights at Casa El Mango. The weather was mid 30 Celcius and sunny - perfect. We loved the personal pool, the view of the ocean, and the private location. We experienced all kinds of wild life including Howler Monkeys which could be seen above and below this hillside casa.

There was nearby construction which often started fairly early however this was simply encouragment to get up and enjoy the nearby town of Samara. Samara is a beautiful beach front town with excellent resteraunts and bars - certainly catering to the tourist. A rental 4X4 brought us to nearby northern beach towns and perfect beaches often with no one else on them.

Steve and Lavae were perfect hosts and the casa met all our needs.
Recommended for:  Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
