Call it the most charming city in Italy. Located centrally in the historic district a Spacious, sunny/bright 4 bedroom (sleeps 7), 2 full bathroom, penthouse apt with city/mountain and sunset views, large terrace and enclosed glass atrium garden. Just two train stops from Venice, 40 minutes to Verona, less than an hour to Jesolo beach or a short drive to the famous Italian Alps town of 'Cortina D’ Ampezzo, the internationally renowned ski resort and site of the winter Olympics. Located in the center of all of Padova's famous piazza/market squares, high end fashion shopping (i.e. Gucci, Dolce Gabbana, La Perla etc.) restaurants, nightlife, theaters, museums and all other main tourist attractions. Walking distance to the central bus and train terminal, it's fully equipped with all linen, brand new furniture and kitchen appliances including dishwasher and washing machine. A separate office has wireless dsl, printer/fax/copier/scanner. The apartment also has satellite and cable TV & DVD

Padua or Padova as it is otherwise known, is the treasure of Northern Italy. two train stop (28km) from Venice, this town is both modern and ancient at the same time. In fact some claim it may be the oldest city in Italy. It contains many magnificent churches and piazzas, each with its own daily market where one can buy fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, nuts as well as clothing and other goods. It is close to Verona and Bologna as well; all short and inexpensive train rides away. The train and bus station is walking distance from the apartment.

Additional information about rental rates

  • At present conversion is about 1.5 Dollars to the Euro. We charge 95 Euro per night double occup.
  • For each person over 2, we charge $25 per person, per night. We require a security/reservation deposit of $300 (in addition to rental rates) for up to 2 persons and $100 per person thereafter (for ex. if 4 persons rent, the security deposit will be $400 (all plus 4%). Security is refunded after you vacate provided no damage. There is also a one time cleaning fee of US$80. We prefer payment via Paypal but we do accept credit cards or you may wire funds to our account.
  • A parking facility is available at the apartment for an additional fee of US $10 per night. Rates are subject to change without notice. Holiday rates may apply.

Notes: a private parking space is available as an option. Security is provided gate building with intercom phone. But you will find Padua is an extremely safe town. There is virtually no crime whatsoever. Nevertheless, the apartment requires a key to enter the well lit grounds, then another to enter the building and yet a third to enter the apartment itself. Smoking is not allow in apt. however their is a outdoor Terrace.

Considering staying in Venice itself??: Padua is the better choice. A mere 20 minute (22km two train stop) inexpensive train ride makes Venice the perfect side trip but Padua also offers the charm of this ancient historical city with convenient connections to trains to Verona as well as Bologna. A bus or car rental can have you in Cortina for skiing or sightseeing within several hours. Avoid the tourist rush and expense of Venice. Live as an Italian in Padua!

Shopping: Padua prides itself on having every major designer clothing and jewelry store within walking distance of the main squares. You may choose the conventional or the open air stalls that fill the numerous piazzas each day

Wonderful Vacaion in Padua

My family and I, six of us in total, spent three nights in this apartment in Padua. The listing was accurate in its description of the apartment as well as the local attractions and amenities. The apartment was clean and well maintained. The woman who met us when we arrived gave me a good "tour" of the property while her very cute grand daughter entertained the rest of the family by trying to teach them Italian words. We were able to communicate even though I didn't speak Italian and she didn't speak English, lots of hand signals.
The only negative would be that the air conditioner was undersized for the size of the apartment and the outside temperatures (high 30's). It did cool the air somewhat but not really that effective which made sleeping difficult for the kids. That being said, air conditioning in any form seems to be rare in Italy so I guess it could have been worse.
All in all a great experience and we have recommended Home Away Holiday Rentals to anyone who would listen. We will definitely be repeat customers.

Great location and property in Padua

Our family of 5 found this property a very convenient and comfortable home for our 5 nights in Padua. The apartment is a 5 minute walk from the town's main squares and wonderful restaurants. It is a very easy 15 minute walk from the apartment to the Scrovegni chapel and the train station.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers
