'Rugosa' is a historic Arts & Crafts residence that once housed the modern art collection of Lois Orswell, whose father built the house in 1920. Rugosa is located at Narragansett Pier 300 yards from the open ocean of Block Island Sound and 400 yards from Narragansett Town Beach, one of the finest on the East coast. The house comfortable and very private, surrounded by stone walls and mature trees, on 2 landscaped acres, and includes gardens, a fish pool and a badminton court. The house has been well-maintained, and the kitchen was recently modernized. The Narragansett town center is only 0.7 miles with gourmet shopping and dining, and the charming town of Wakefield only 3 miles. Narragansett is without the summer crowding of historic Newport, but the latter is only 20 minutes by auto.

Rugosa is 20 minutes by car from historic Newport, and 5 miles from Galilee and Point Judith where ferries run to Block Island and boats leave for deep sea fishing and whale watching.

Tennis courts (5, hard surface) are available at Sprague Park in Narragansett (3/4 mile).
