The Perfect Wedding

We can't say enough good things about this place. If you are looking for a getaway, the rental home has everything you would want and more - warmly decorated, immaculately clean, room for three couples and 2 kids (you could have 4), a huge open space for modern living - a great open kitchen for cooking, dining, hanging out together, relaxing, enjoying the views from inside or outside, the sounds of a brook as you fall asleep, great new bathrooms, storage for all your bags and clothes (you will want to move in), laundry, and anything you might need right at your fingertips. But it doesn't stop there. Not only is this place in one of the most charming parts of the Southern Berkshires, 5 minutes from downtown Great Barrington, the house is nestled on the most beautiful property, with views of the mountains, sunset, horses, trees, butterflies, and the most magical fireflies in June that light up the pasture to mirror the starry sky. We got to stay on the property for a week, enjoying the nearby lakes, hiking, restaurants, ice cream and coffee shops, and could easily have stayed for longer. And then there are the Brunnschweilers, who take such good care of the home and the property, are right across the road, and bring such joy to everything they do. This past June, the entire Brunschweiler family helped us make our dream wedding come true, and extended us incredible generosity by allowing us to use the property for our ceremony and reception. From mowing and staking out part of the horse pasture just for us for the tent rental, to helping with parking for 100 guests, they helped us escape all the hoopla and expense that can go along with the whole wedding business, and gave us a truly amazing place to gather our friends and family to celebrate our union. We had wanted the feel of a backyard barbecue, and instead got a sweeping sunset mountain vista, with majestic galloping horses for company, and thousands of fireflies like dancing stars come to life among us in the twilight, along with countless hours of help and preparation from the Brunschweiler family that made the whole thing seem effortless. This is a very special home, and a very special family that shares it with those of us needing a getaway, a place to rest or rejuvenate, explore all the arts, culture nearby or adventure into all the surrounding natural beauty. It was also, for us, and maybe for someone else someday, the perfect place for a country wedding.
