Poipu holiday cottage

Manako Hale (Mango House) is named for the beautiful old Mango tree shading the cottage and reputed by locals to have the best mangos on the island. This is a cottage for two, and if you're in the mood for romance, all the better. Built on stilts, and surrounded by a lush tropical garden, the bungalow rises to meet the tree tops. The view from the deck is enchanting. Perched in this little nest among the trees, you can watch the ocean change from sunrise to sunset. The cottage opens into a living area with a kitchen on one end and the doors to the deck on the other. The bedroom and bath are to the rear. It is bright and airy, and Hawaii's famous trade winds move softly through the air. Vintage Hawaiian and simplicity at its best, this is a place to forget the care of the world and take time to revel in small pleasures. From the cottage's guestbook comes this sweet observation: 'This is more than a place to sleep and put our stuff. It is so romantic'.
