As cozy & convenient as it is affordable, this simple, bright with petite bathroom efficiency is located a few minutes walk and drive of Gloucester's Back Shore and Atlantic Ocean leading to the popular Good Harbor Beach. It's an easy walk, bike or drive to Eastern Point and Niles Beach, where you can enjoy the coastline, estates & mansions, historic lighthouse, Gloucester breakwaters and scenic harbor views. Located on a residential property (a former bed & breakfast), the efficiency itself is not part of the main residence but rather in a separate building - a non-working garage used for storage below with a summer cottage ambiance. Led to the second level by a wooden outside staircase, the 550 sq. ft. suite is supplied with everything an individual, couple or small family (not more than 3 big people or 2 adults and 2 small little people total) might need while on vacation or in short term transition. The owners / family have 3 children, 2 cats & one very friendly Labrador.

Earlier this summer in June, I was visting family in gloucester and we picked this coastal retreat because it was affordable, and close to the ocean and beaches. We loved it. From the comfy bed to the beautiful property with gazebo and pond, so close to the ocean you can touch the fresh air and enjoy the ocean breezes. The suite had everything we needed, was very cozy, but did not feel small. We enjoyed the property owners - their children and dog (a lab) were well behaved and playful. The owners were very accomodating and provided bike storage, and special touches.

Gloucester has much to offer, and this location is ideal for walking and short travel at night to restaurants, theater, and nightlife, as well as beaches for sunsets! My boyfriend and I recommend this location and Gloucester for a great vacation and retreat.

Last winter, I was in Gloucester on business and had the pleasure of staying in this great rental unit off season. It's everything the owner's advertise ... comfortable, convenient, affordable and close to the natural surroundings of Gloucester and the ocean. While I was there, it was winter and cold outside but the apartment is cozy and warm. The owners were nice, responsive and helpful with all my needs -- they even made me breakfast one morning. I would return with my wife for a romantic retreat, as well as with my little kids, in the warmer beach months. I would definitely recommend this location to any business traveler over the hotels in the area which I have frequented as well.

What a retreat! Cozy, quiet, and near the beach. The hosts were quite welcoming, and went out of their way to make sure I had everything I needed, including wireless internet so I could do my work remotely. I had the most comfortable bed, a bottle of wine on my arrival, and beautiful beaches minutes away. Gloucester has some fun places,
good food and music. I enjoyed my quiet getaway, and had the option of turning up the dial come night time. This place is great when you need to clear your head, get a breather from the city, and want to stay close to the ocean. I'd love to come back next year...and hope that I can.
