Our traditional stone farmhouse, built by family members in 1955 and renovated in 2003, sits on a windswept hill surrounded by grazing sheep and open pastures. Enjoy the stunning views out the front windows in the morning and the blanket of stars at night. There is a turf-burning fireplace in the kitchen, timber floors, and comfortable furniture. Everything is provided: linens, kitchenware, electricity, TV/DVD, CD player, microwave, washer/dryer etc. Our caretaker lives right down the road if you ever need assistance.

Our farmhouse is near the Ring of Kerry halfway between Cahersiveen and Watervile, offering breathtaking views and a quiet, private spot close to beaches, golf and mountains. A short hike up the hill behind is rewarded by a panorama you'll never forget: the Skellig Islands in the Atlantic; Ballinskelligs Bay, with the shimmering lights of Waterville at its throat, and MacGillicuddy's Reeks, boasting Ireland's tallest peak. Enjoy restaurants and pubs with traditional entertainment in Cahersiveen, Portmagee, Valentia, Waterville and Ballinskelligs; the world-class Waterville Golf Links, blue flag beaches, magnificent walks, fresh and saltwater fishing, horseback-riding, surfing, diving and wind-surfing. Also close by are pre-Christian sites; boat trips to the monastic settlement on Skellig Michael; Derrynane House, the ancestral home of Daniel O'Connell, Ireland's 'Liberator;' and the Cill Rialaig pre-famine village and artist colony. We are 2.5 hours from Shannon Airport.

My wife and 3 kids had a wonderful time at the home.
The views were beautiful, close to beaches and we
loved waking up to the sounds of the local sheep. We
highly recommend the home to other renters.

Such a wonderful cottage - the most comfortable, cozy and lovely
home to spend our short time in Kerry. We not only fell in love with the house but also with this part of Ireland (especially the mountains, which were simply stunning at this time of year, though I suspect they are pretty spectacular at any). The owner and his family have also been particularly kind and helpful, making us feel genuinely welcome. We will definitely return.
