Eleven Mile/Spiney Reservoir 40 minutes to Canon City - visit the Royal Gorge, take a white water rafting trip. 30 minutes to Woodland Park - closest for shopping 45 minutes to Colorado Springs and the Airport - Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, Pikes Peak Cog Just over an hour to the Ski Resorts (Breckenridge, Keystone, Frisco, Copper) This area of Colorado is smothered by National Forest/BLM/Wilderness areas. - within 5 minutes.

Now offering neighboring property: If any of you have stayed at this cabin - you will be happy to know that we are now offerng the neighboring property - which is also very very nice - built by the same builder with many of the same features. So if you need more room to bring up the whole family - there is a path through the trees to go back and forth between cabins. Also works well for any corporate needs - come up for some planning and budgeting and use both cabins.

Beautiful Home & Setting

What a gorgeous place! The pictures can't capture the beauty of the home or the surroundings. The house was clean and very well maintained. We loved having a bedroom & bath on each floor. Everything we needed was there, all we needed was our clothes and food. Because we experienced a rare early snowstorm, we spent more time in the house than we expected. But what a place to be 'housebound'; we played dominoes and listened to music on the satellite radio and cooked our meals in the well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed delicious takeout from the Smokin' Q Barbecue in Divide. We loved the Coffee House restaurant in Florissant after hiking and viewing the petrified redwoods at the Fossil monument; and hiking in Mueller State Park was beautiful with the snow and the yellow Aspens. The Cog Railway to Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and the Cliff Dwellings as well as Cripple Creek are each within an hour drive for great sightseeing and hiking. But you don't have to leave the property to explore the mountain wilderness. The five of us select a location each year for our vacation, and this one will remain one of our most memorable. We would recommend this beautiful home to everyone!

Wonderful mountain home away from home

We highly recommend this property. Very beautiful location, wonderful views and serenity!! While secluded, it is convenient to great towns like Woodland Park, Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. Be sure and try the Hungry Bear in Woodland Park for breakfast.
The home is well maintained with a great kitchen for eat in breakfasts and dinners before and after a day out in the Colorado sun hiking, whitewater rafting and trail riding!! Fishing in the near by Dream Stream at Spinney Mountain Reservoir is a must for the fisherman. A favorite spot at the home is the small deck on the side of the house where you can go out at night and look up--you may see some shooting stars and it will take you breath away. The stars really twinkle when you are away from the city lights. Lots of wildlife like deer, black squirrels and beautiful birds. Great hot tub to to rest your weary bones.
Mike and Maggie were very helpful in booking the trip--thanks to them for helping us with our home away from home !!

WOW...is the only word said when we pulled up. What a beautiful house and property to be able to enjoy. Like said in other posts, the photos helped but it is better in person! We had 5 adults and one child...oh yea and one dog. We all had enough room and was able to do our own things if we wanted. The cabin was clean, well kept, and well decorated. The hot tub was great and you cannot beat the view day or night....step out on the deck at night with all the lights off for a spectacular view of stars! We would recommed this cabin to anyone who wants to RELAX and enjoy Colorado. I wanted to thank the owners for letting us use such a gorgeous house and Maggie. You are wonderful to work with and will recommend you to others! If you are wanting to relax, hike, site see, enjoy family, honeymoon, or just get away...this cabin is perfect! We loved in and will be back! Thanks again...

BREATH TAKING

A family of 4!!! Colorado Springs

After returning from our trip I just had to write a review of our experience. My family of eight, 2 young children and 6 adults decided to do something a little different this year for Christmas. I'm sure glad that we did!!!!!!!! Upon driving towards the cabin is when the calming, peace of seeming like you are in the middle of nowhere begins to hit you. Not one picture, though they tried, gives this home ANY justice! This cabin is something that you HAVE to experience first hand.Having eight people in one place you would think would be cramped, not in this cabin. Everyone had plenty of space for then self's. Once we unpacked we did not get into our vehicles until we left three days later. There was NO need to. Everything was at our finger tips (and more). We had a herd of deer between 10-12 right outside of the cabin our last day. Some within 5 feet. It made for some amazing pictures, but the memories aren't bad either. My husband who is a nature freak loved hiking, rock climbing and scouting out the area.To say that we will go back is an understatement!!!!!!!!!!! We wil make it a point to re-visit this cabin as well as tell all of our friends! Thanks to Maggie (the property manager)everything was smooth sailing! The memories will last a life time!

AWESOME!

What a great experience we had at this home. There were seven of us (4 adults), and never felt cramped. The first thing we noticed when we walked toward the cabin was the incredible view. We have rented several cabins, and this one has the best view we've seen. the location is remote, so I'd recommend taking everything you need. A quick trip for some milk is just not going to happen. The kitchen is well-equipped with wonderful Kitchen-Aide appliances. There are two HD TV's (40" and 60") with satellite, but no DVD player. The 60 inch HD was almost as intoxicating as the scenery, but not quite (i went during football season). Hiking the property, climbing rocks, wildlife, this place has it all. We will definitely return!! The only other thing I'd recommend is to bring your own deck chairs. The deck is huge, but we found only two chairs. Also, Maggie was wonderful to deal with, and even drove out to the cabin to deliver us some dishwashing detergent. GREAT TRIP!!!!!
