Conveniently Located Peaceful Hideaway

With all the preparations for my trip being frantic and last-minute, and with a late-evening arrival, it was such a treat to collapse in Jacqueline's lovely, cozy, and deliciously secluded apartment. All the arrangements were handled graciously and efficiently even with very little advance notice, and I was able to easily let myself in without disturbing anyone. The street is a pretty steep SF-grade hill, but levels out near the house, and street parking was usually not a problem (although there is also apparently off-street parking that I never got around to investigating).
The location worked out extremely well for me, too -- close to the 101 and the 110, within three miles of "The Best Fish Taco in Ensenada," and a short drive to Whole Foods or Trader Joe's.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to spend too much time relaxing and enjoying the place as I was gone from early morning to late evening most days, but it was so nice to come back to my little hideaway every night. I even got a surprise visit from a curious urban raccoon peering in at me one evening while I was watching TV, which I thought was pretty awesome.
I also was able to spend pretty much 90% of my last day lounging on the super-comfy fold-out couch/futon in the living room. A friend who lives in the area came by to visit and we spent most of the afternoon watching the sun move across the sky and then set while we chatted -- it was heavenly. What a great view! If I'd had the time and energy, I would have grilled out on the patio and toasted the sunset every night ... Bellissima!
Nearly everything I could imagine needing was supplied -- the gas stove made my morning cappuccino a snap, the bed was made up with very soft sheets and tough to get out of in the morning, and the hairdryer, iron, and washer/dryer (with detergent & fabric softener to boot) came in extremely handy.
Frankly, I didn't want to leave.
