Fully furnished NON SMOKING cottage on quiet 23 acres lake. Swimming area. Row boat & paddle boat are included for relaxing or fishing. Traverse City and the Traverse Bay with all it's beauty and beautiful Torch Lake and the Chain of Lakes are minutes away for motor boating and enjoyment. Small swing set is available for small children. Fire pit is available for use during DNR approved seasons (when conditions are not excessively dry or windy). NO FIREWORKS ALLOWED. Charcoal barbecue grill is also available for your use. No cable or TV service, however, VCR with VHS library available. No illegal or off the ground fireworks allowed. NO ATV OR MOTORCYCLE USE ALLOWED ON PROPERTY. Must use approved ORV/ATV trails approximately 8 miles away on M-72 between Grayling and Kalkaska.

Relaxed Family Time!

My husband, 2 children (8 and 5) and I loved the cottage! It was the perfect size for a family of four. The property was very large and so private! We had the lake to ourselves almost everyday, except for the occasional fisherman trying to catch something with my kids splashing around. The beach area was clean and the lake itself was shallow enough that the kids could almost walk all the out to the trampoline dock. The paddle boat was used everyday, as well as the row boat that were provided. We even saw an eagle twice while we were there, catching his dinner from the lake.

The cabin was clean, the kitchen was stocked with all the cooking utensils that we could've needed. If your family is looking for a quiet, private, fun filled lake time, this is the cottage for you! We loved it.

Nice Lakeside Home

This cottage is a nice, quiet retreat. The property itself is very nice, and the beach area was small but good for our two kids, 8 and 6. Fishing for bluegill was fun---we caught some nice ones. We had a couple of fires and ate outside each nice. Quarters inside would be tight for 6 (pullout couch required), but were fine for four. If you're looking for a peaceful place and want to spend some time outdoors, this would be a good choice.

My husband and I took our 6 and 3 year old daughters here for a week and had a great time. The lake is awesome, with a sandy bottom, large shallow area and water trampoline. Our girls each caught fish off the dock and from the row boat. We spent one day in Traverse City-only 1/2 hour away and another day boating on a larger lake just 10 minutes away. The cottage itself met our needs with a small but functional kitchen area and a large living room area. We did not miss television, but did enjoy nightly movies from the selection available at the cottage. Overall, we highly recommend this site and will most likely return.

Classic Family Get Away

We greatly enjoyed the week we spent at the Kettle Lake cottage. The setting was so beautiful with the large trees, the sandy smimming hole and the wilderness accross the lake. Our kids loved the water trampoline. Everything was a convenient distance. My daughter tried her hand at fishing from the boat and dock and actually caught her first bass. And, with Kalkaska being 5 minutes away we were not so remote as to lose convenience. At first we missed some modern amenities like cable TV, but afterwhile we enjoyed the break from the noise and kept busy with smimming, trips to Traverse City and Torch Lake, hiking and campfires. We loved it and will be back again.
