Watch waves and sunrises over the beach and boats and sunsets over the bay. The Beach Retreat is beachside and set back just enough to retain a beautiful gulf view yet offer some privacy from beach goers. Just because you’re at the beach doesn't mean you have to live like a bum. The Beach Retreat was built and furnished with vacationing guests in mind and has all the desired modern amenities to make you feel at home. The Beach Retreat is all about comfort, and enjoyment. There's a picnic area for outdoor barbecues. When you come back from the beach an enclosed hot outdoor shower is awaiting. You can enjoy the beach views while getting a tan on the private sun deck or sipping a cool beverage under the covered patio.   • The private Master Bath can only be entered from the Master Bedroom. The shower curtain has palm trees to complete the tropical theme from the Master Bedroom. The Guest bathroom is accessible from the Hallway. It takes on the surfer theme from the Kids Bedroom with a beachy surfer floor mat, surfer wall signs, and a surfboard soap dispenser. The Beach Outdoor Shower is steaming Hot!. It has hot water that is. The Private Hot Outdoor Shower is a treat from being at the beach all day. Measuring 4 feet by 6 feet, couples can easily shower together.

  • The Master Bedroom theme is Tropical Flowers and Palm Trees. You will find a Queen size Bed luxuriously covered in a tropical comforter, pillow shams, and throw pillows. A palm tree painting is centered above the bed. Four Orchid flowers are placed on the south-west window. Two tropical flower paintings are placed on each side of the south-east windows. By the way there are great beach view from the master windows. We placed two casual driftwood chairs beside the window for your relaxation. The Kids Bedroom is a surfer theme. The bedding is a Hawaiian surfing design. There are two surf board pictures above the full sized beds. Four ceramic surfing signs completes the 'surfs up' appeal. Views from the Kids bedroom are of the Bay. The Living room converts into a bedroom with two full size futon sofa beds. The Kids just love to sleep on these.

Fun in The Sun

Wow! My family and I enjoyed The Beach Retreat. We all had a fantastic time @ this family oriented beach house. The House was well equipped as stated with everything we needed for our stay. Our cook outs were great with the local seafood we picked up . The grill & picnic table were perfect for this. The Shrimp were Huge! The beach house was a Hop, Skip & Jump to the shore. It was very easy toting our stuff to the beach, where we would spend most of the day. The Beach Retreat was Awesome & we look foward to coming back soon! The Owner Tom takes excellent care of this property & it shows. He is also is very informative through email or on the phone. I would recommend The Beach Retreat to any family that is looking for a relaxing vacation with all the luxuries of home. We all have great Tans too!
Owner's Response: Did you know that the best time to visit the beach is in September and October? Now that school has opened, there are less crowds at the beach. It's also a lot cooler especially when it's cloudy. We just visited the beach last week and had a great time. Most of the time we didn't even need an umbrella because the clouds blocked the hot sun. The water was still warm. Even when it rains, it's only for a short while.

the pictures do not do it justice, it is impeccably clean, attractions/restaurants ; didn,t need them , spent 7 evenings watching the waves crash on the beach, birds fly over, and enjoy the breeze, right from the deck. the house had EVERYTHING we could possibly need, we will most certainly go again
Owner's Response: Why go out? You can save a lot of money by cooking in. They say over half the cost of a vacation is spent on dining out. The Beach Retreat has a large Bar-B-Q grill and a full size kitchen with all of the cookware you'll need.

Comfy Beach House with Ocean View!

My family (2 adults, 1 senior, 1 child) stayed at this clean and comy beach house for a week. The house was beautiful, comfortable and clean - exactly as described by the owner. Renting the house was easy and we got the opportunity to actually converse with the owner rather than a second party. This made the whole experience more pleasant and we felt like the owner was actually as interested in us having a wonderful time on our vacation as he was in renting the house.

The beach house had wonderful views of the beach from the deck and the owner provided ample chairs and mini-tables on the deck for us to all sit out on the deck in the evenings and watch the sun set as we sipped wine and blender drinks. Cooking was a treat as the owner provided all the cookware and servingware needed to make even the most elegant of meals. We actually ate a few meals out on the deck. Those meals we ate inside were eaten on a large table seating10.

We spent most of our time either on the beach or at the beach house relaxing. The beach house had two couches seating about 6 and had a TV plus DVD player which came in very handy with our child! There was also a cable converter that allowed for commercial TV access. I have to admit that the channel selection was very limited.

The beach was only a block or so away from the beach house ... an easy minute walk on a road not used often by vehicular traffic (so it is very safe for children to walk to the beach with adult supervision). The beach itself is clean and well maintained. Weekend days the beach is quite crowded but the crowds peter out during the week. Neighboring beach houses are a combination of rental units and owner-used units. The owners we met while on the beach were incredibly friendly and offered us many excellent tips and suggestions on how to get the most out of our stay at Surfside Beach.

A number of restaurants were recommended to us by the local owners and our beach house owner but we did not eat out during our stay. But it is a good sign when local owners recommend a place and you see that place packed with customers!

All in all, our stay at this beach house was just what the doctor ordered! We all had a great time and are eager to come back next summer! I would recommend this beach house to anyone and know that they will have just as good a time as we did!
Owner's Response: Things keep getting better at the Beach Retreat. We just added 5 colorful wooden Adirondack rocker chairs and a glider bench. You can rock back and forth watching those waves.

clean, relaxing and convenient

We just got back from a week at the Beach Retreat, and we loved it. The house was very clean, well-organized and kid-friendly. The view of the ocean from the deck is lovely, and the deck is situated so that there is shade and a breeze for much of the day. The beach is just footsteps away, and, well...we just had a really great vacation there!
Owner's Response: Surfside Beach TX is now better than ever! The new dune fencing makes a great place to hang your beach towels. A new Dune walkover and palapa umbrella picnic tables were recently added. New Restaurants & Cafe's are popping up. There are Golf Cart rentals 4 houses down from us now. Carting up and down the beach and neighborhood is a lot of fun. Welcome!

Most perfect place to stay for an ocean vacation.

Beach Retreat is a gorgeous, well maintained beach house. The view from the living room/kitchen and patio is absolutely perfect. The beach was extremely accessible and I felt very comfortable allowing my children to walk to and from the beach. The area felt very safe as it was patroled both on the beach and within the neighborhood. The other neighbors were quiet and other property's well kept. The Beach Retreat itself was very well thought out, it had everything you could need to stay for an extended, comfortable vacation. The area was quiet during the week, almost had the beach to ourselfs, yet the weekend provided many others for the kids to talk and play with. The house was close enough to the beach to make access and views great, and yet far enough to avoid loud weekend party noises. I don't think I could have found a more perfect place to stay for both myself (seeking peace) and the kids (seeking fun and beach play). The owner was extremely helpful in all the little details, and has already refunded the deposit. (only 36 hours after we left) The weather was totally gorgeous for our entire week. Seems everything was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed our vacation.
