My Wedding Home

For 4 days this beautiful house was my home, and home to many of my wedding guests. It was a wonderful thing: I didn't have to worry about getting everyone together from different hotels; I had the chance to sit with my friends while I dealt with the last touches on wedding decor, and they had fun helping me.

Having friends who had never met each other be able to spend time together was a gift--they had so much more fun at the wedding having already bonded over breakfasts, drinks and afternoon naps in the living rooms.

My entire family was in the house next door, so it was like having our own compound. It was a very safe place for all the cousins to play in the yard together.

Maria was so warm and welcoming, and she made it so easy to see the house and to make our arrangements.

The decor of the house is lovely, and everything is there--you can even cook out on the grill. And of course the surrounding landscape is breathtaking. I will definitely be going back to take some hikes.

Being at the Victorian made for the most relaxing time I could have imagined under the circumstances.

A Gathering Place

I have stayed in this beautiful house for two summers in a row. I have a large group of friends who gather here to catch up, cook food, play games and some go tubing on the Esopus. The location of this place is perfect. There are many things to do in the area or because of the seclusion of the house you can choose to stay on the porch and relax. My friends and I plan on returning every year. In some ways this house is keeping all of our lives connected by being our gathering place.

Also the owners are easy to work with and keep such a lovely home which is clean, accommodating and most of all welcoming.

Perfect Accomodations for a Gathering of Friends

Gorgeous property and surrounding landscape. We felt like we were staying in the beauty and calm of an Albert Bierstadt painting.
This Victorian Home was the perfect place for us to getaway with friends. The property had everything we needed and more: comfortable beds, rooms large enough to gather in, a bbq out back, and the porch which became a favorite spot for eating breakfast, napping in the sun, and enjoying the scenic mountain view. The owner's were friendly, helpful, and professional. We couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect and convenient vacation. We recommend this property to anyone planning a friends or family gathering, and suggest three things to anyone who stays: Open a few windows and the front door to let the crisp mountain breeze mingle through the rooms, take an early eveing stroll through the neighborhood (keeping an eye out for the friendly black lab), and enjoy the porch.

Wonderful family time

My family and I rented this house in the winter for a weekend of skiing. There were 6 adults and 9 children. This house was a perfect fit for all us, offering us enough space and accomodations for us all to feel comfortable enough, yet still cozy. The house is ideally located to a variety of places, whether it's skiing or hiking - or just wandering into towns like Woodstock. The house is very nicely decorated and has a "at home" feel to it. Our family had not been able to get together for quite some time, and the choice was either this house or getting separate rooms at a hotel. I can't tell you how nice it was for us to be all under one roof again and in such a nice place. It's been months since we stayed there, but we all still talk about what a great time we had in that house. Thank you Maria and Louis for a wonderful time!
