Superb Vacation

We just stayed at Casa Jaguar in July of 2009 and we LOVED it. We were a group of 9, including a young child, and the experience was fantastic. The house is perfect and very well maintained. THe pool was meticulously cleaned and maintained throughout our stay. House manager Donna Rivera was extremely accommodating and helpful. The house was clean and beautifully decorated. The weather was perfect even though we were there in the off season. The breeze off the of the Caribbean was so refreshing that we did not need AC in the main house, just the bedrooms at night. The only negative aspect was the slipperiness of the tiles on the pool deck - 2 of our party fell (no injuries) even though we were warned. The owners and property manager are aware of this and are trying to remedy the situation. Other than that, though, this is a great property and we highly recommend it. We also recommend checking out the Garrafon water park, which is within walking distance of the house. Do not bother with the Zama Beach Club - pricey and the beach is not that great. Instead, go to the North Beach area for beach activities. The supermarket on the island has limited offerings, so if there is something you MUST have, like Pop Tarts for the kids, bring them with you. You will thoroughly enjoy your Isla Mujeres vacation and Casa de Jaguar - we certainly did and we hope to return.

Paradise Found!!

My wife and I took our family - 9 total, including 8 adults and a 2 year old - and spent a glorious week at Casa de Jaguar from June 6th thru the 13th. The property and home are so much more beautiful than the pictures. You must see this place to believe it. We could not have asked for a better home. The views were spectacular. From the veranda, we saw dolphins swimming past just off shore. While walking along the sea side path just steps from the house, we saw sea turtles. The sunrises were spectacular as were the views of Cancun at night from the upper balcony area. My favorite past time was just sitting on the veranda watching the Caribbean. Even with 9 people in the house, it never felt crowded. We enjoyed the full kitchen and put it to good use. Our grandson, our adult kids, along with Grandma and Grandpa all enjoyed the beautiful swimming pool. It was wonderful to come back to a home and jump in the pool after a day of exploring or shopping. Donna and her husband were wonderful to deal with and showed real interest in making sure that we were enjoying ourselves. The house was in immaculate condition when we arrived. Everything we needed for a relaxing, enjoyable vacation was either there already or readily available. My wife and I are already talking of, and planning, a return trip. I think we definitely spoiled our kids by taking them to this spectacular home. If you have the opportunity, you need to spend at least a week in this house on Isla.

Fabulous Casa de Jaguar

I just returned from a fabulous week at the Casa de Jaguar with my family. The house is even grander and more luxurious than the pictures can show. Everything is brand new and of the highest quality. We spent lots of time in the magnificent pool overlooking the Caribbean and enjoyed barbequing on the terrace. We appreciated having cold purified water and ice available at all times. You can relax knowing that you are in good hands with Donna and her husband Ziggy. They are TOTALLY dependable and will take care of your every need. They will instruct you in how to use the cell phone on site so that you can contact them any time you need. We enjoyed the quiet location near the southern tip of the island and found it very easy to get a taxi to the north end. A five minute walk to the right will take you to the Garrafon Park or Castille de Garrafton for fun snorkeling. It’s also a short walk to Casa O restaurant where we enjoyed a magnificent panoramic view of the sunset and twinkling lights of Cancun. On the northern end, we enjoyed eating at the Sunset Grill and Ballyhoo restaurants and strolling down Hidalgo in the evening. The excellent map and guidebook in the house will give you lots of good suggestions for restaurants and activities. My family will always treasure our great vacation at Casa de Jaguar on this very special Isla!

Vacation in Isla Mujeres

The description is accurate. The infinity pool overlooks the ocean and is a highlight of the Casa de Jaguar experience. The property was very clean and well-maintained. Donna met us at the ferry and we followed her in our golf cart to the home. Donna's husband, Ziggy was very helpful and they both were full of information about the island. I recommend this to anyone really wanting to get away and avoid the "tourist" spots of Cancun,etc.... The only tourist-y areas are down at the sandy beach on the north end of the isla during the day as tourists flood in from Cancun for day trips to the isla and many tourists will take your picture (while your sitting or swimming in the pool) from the road during the day as they circle the island in their golf carts. At night they all leave and it is quiet and full of local activity. We liked the authentic food at Amigos downtown on Hidalgo and Rolandi's for great Italian pizza. Donna can easily book any and all activities desired on the isla. We tried the Whale-Shark tour and snorkeling. It was fun, ask for Elmer and Junior as your guides on this tour. Be prepared for some "3rd World" sites, smells and adventure between the home and downtown, but you always feel safe and get very used to it after a day or two. The laid-back atmosphere is addictive! You won't want to leave. 5 nights was not enough time. The height of their busy season is November to Jan. In July (their off-season) the nights are very quiet and you feel like the only visitors to the island at many eateries and shops.
