This cottage was indeed perfect for what we needed--a quiet, roomy place to spread out and relax at the end of a couple of busy days. And I can not say enough good things about the on-premise owner. Suffice it to say he knows what southern hospitality is all about.

The outside of the place could use a paint job, but the inside was in great shape and beautifully decorated. It included two bedrooms, two televisions with cable, a full-size eat-in kitchen (where a washer and dryer are also located) and a bathroom complete with an big old-fashioned iron claw bathtub (also set up for a shower).

It is located in the historic downtown area of Augusta. We picked from the owner's suggestions for restaurants and can heartily recommend The Boll Weevil Cafe and Sweetery. They make a mean shrimp and grits and the peppercorn-sirloin melts in your mouth.

Traffic noise may bother you if you're a light sleeper since it is on the corner of a city street. It didn't bother us, except for the occasional loud motorcycle or 'boom-boom' car--and that would be irritating even if you were in a hotel five stories up.

I can heartily recommend this cottage to travelers to Augusta, GA.
Owner's Response: This house is slated to be painted in the next couple of months. The traffic doesn't seem to be too bad, but it is indeed located on a corner in Downtown Georgia
