Come stay at our Black Pond Guesthouse, located in the Belgrade Lakes region of Maine -- 1 hour from Portland, Maine, 3 hours from Boston. Enjoy our modern 3000sf post-and-beam saltbox house, with 3 levels of decks, screened porch, and a serene lake right in the backyard! Kayak, swim, lounge... enjoy the tranquility of nature, and visit the areas many sights and sounds. We have all the amenities: fully furnished, 5 bedrooms, WIFI internet, sat-TV, 50+ dvd movies, 100+ books -- plus fully equipped kitchen & laundry. We now have a 24x24 rec room with a ping-pong table and bar. Use our 2 free kayaks, paddleboat or rowboat on the lake; bring you own non-gas boats as well. (You can use your power boat in the myriad other lakes nearby.) Fishing, birdwatching, and walking trails are all yours. A great place to host reunions or parties, even a small wedding!

Our rental home is in Vienna, Maine, which is in the Belgrade Lakes Region of Maine... and located 30 minutes (by car) from Augusta, the Maine state capitol. There are nearby tennis courts, hiking trails, scenic views and plenty of lakes for boating. In Augusta you will find a shopper's paradise – restaurants like Long Horn Steakhouse, Panera Breads, Olive Garden, Thai Star, and the 99, among others. (The town next door, Hallowell, has more upscale places, if that's desired). There are stores like Gap, Linens 'n Things, Kohls, Staples, Circuit City, Home Depot, Pier 1, Walmart, Old Navy, EMS, Barnes and Noble, etc. Within 5 miles of the house are dozens of lakes (some with islands), all perfect for fishing, boating, and camping. There's Parker Pond, Black Pond, Flying Pond, Messalonski, Echo Lake, etc.

Additional information about rental rates

  • Maine law requires us to charge 7% tax.
  • We have 2 summer rates: $1500 for small groups (under 5 adults), $2500 for big groups (5 adults +). We sleep 12 people comfortably. Please call if you are on the cusp of 4 or 5, and we can discuss rates based on number of children. We do not have extra cleaning fees; no other charges. State-wide phone service included.
  • In the Fall and Winter we also rent the house by the month, at a substantial discount. Unless requested, housekeeping is not included in Monthly rates.
