This lovely house is located just south of Montezuma and is surrounded by beaches and rock outcroppings ideal for fishing and snorkeling. A gentle river with waterfall empties out to a swimming lagoon by one of the beaches. The 8 sided house has a very large upstairs bedroom and sitting area built in exotic wood and surrounded by windows. The downstairs bedroom opens up to a patio surrounded by a beautiful tropical garden. Lie in a hammock and listen to the birds and the ocean. Have a swim at the beach, in a tide pool in or in the freshwater lagoon. You'll never feel this relaxed.

  • The house has two sleeping areas: The upstairs is basically a separate studio with a bathroom, kitchenette, a queen bed and two twin beds. It also has a small table with chairs to use when writing, reading, playing board games or cards. This room is very large, with lots of room to spread out. This upstairs area has a hidden combination safe to store valuables. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and its own bathroom. The windows open out onto the patio area, inviting in the ocean breezes. There is also a lovely outdoor eating/relaxing area with a huge exotic wood table and a hammock for lounging. The kitchen has a 'bar style' eating area with stools. All utensils and linens are provided. Appliances include: refrigerator, gas stove, electric toaster oven, and blender.

The downstairs bedroom is conveniently located at ground level for those who may prefer to avoid stairs. The windows are screened to allow all the ocean breezes to flow right through. Wake up and step outside to the covered patio, where you will enjoy your morning coffee with a peaceful view of the ocean- just steps away! The entire home is set like a jewel in a dramatic rock formation on the edge of the ocean. Iguanas sun themselves amid the tropical plantings, and monkeys often can be seen in the trees. The home is located in a private, quiet area with only three other homes nearby. Stroll down the road to find a sparkling river that empties into the ocean. Before that a lovely 8 foot waterfall cascades into a clean, fresh-water swimming lagoon with a rope-swing for the kids. Kids of all ages will also love exploring the tide pools among the rock formations.

Of course, there is also a beautiful sandy beach for those who prefer sunbathing, snorkeling, or ocean swimming. Good news for fishing enthusiasts- this is one of the best fishing spots around, so bring your gear! Do you prefer surfing? A quick 5-minute walk from the house will take you to the Los Cedros surf break (boards may be rented in town).

One of the best attributes of this rental is that you can avoid the expense of a rental car because the local shuttle bus runs close by the house. And if you like, it is a easy 20 minutes walk to Montezuma. Catch the bus in one direction to get to Montezuma with its shops, restaurants, and nightlife. In the other direction you will find the small sleepy village of Cabuya, and the world-famous Cabo Blanco Absolute Nature Preserve. Whether you prefer wildlife viewing or snorkeling, surfing or fishing, nightlife or peace and quiet- Las Rocas truly offers something for everyone. Beautiful Montezuma Retreat!

We just returned from Las Rocas and are still daydreaming about our amazing vacation! The house has a lovely view of the ocean with coconut palm trees and lime trees in the front yard! Three howler monkeys visited us everyday -What a treat! The fishing off of Las Rocas is supposed to be the best in the area! We snorkeled at Tortugua, ziplined the rainforest canopy, visited the waterfall and lagoon by the house, hiked to the Montezuma waterfall and swam in the lovely beaches all around Las Rocas and Montezuma. The town of Montezuma was very funky and fun with a lot of good restaurants. We did not rent a car and really enjoyed riding the bus into town. We met alot of nice folks that way. The owner of the house and the caretaker were both so friendly and helpful. We cannot wait to go back!

Honeymoon Getaway

We chose this location for our honeymoon get away, we spent 2 weeks there. We enjoyed the close proxmiity of the house to many things (Montezuma Town, Beaches, Waterfall, National Park, Mal Pais & St. Teresa). We got to see many animals (monkeys, iguana's, etc). The house is great, and a wonder ful location to hear the ocean and see the beautiful waves crash on the rocks. What a lovely, peaceful place. We had a great time!!

Can't imagine a more beautiful home!

My boyfriend and I just returned from an 9 day stay at Las Rocas in Cabuya. All I can say is, location, location, location!!! Far enough from both Cabuya and Montezuma but also close enough. A private driveway with plenty of security and absolutely breath taking views of the ocean and jungle. SO MUCH TO DO! The zip line canopy was top notch! It included cliff diving into a 20 foot deep lagoon and a rope swing! The towns of Mal Pais and Santa Teresa are also very close and both have the most beautiful beach and funky little shops and "sodas". The house itself is stellar! The upstairs bedroom is more than luxurious yet you still feel as if you are "in the jungle". We just loved it! The patio was out favorite place to chill out and watch the wildlife, while the bats and geckos took care of the bugs. We weren't bitten even once! Watching the sunrise on the rocks with a cup of coffee had me up at 5am every morning...words can't describe how awesome it was to watch. As far as the owners and managers of the home, I can't say enough about how helpful they were. Every question I had was answered by the time i sent the email! In summary, if you are planning on spending holiday on the Nicoya peninsula, LAS ROCAS is the place to stay! Oh, and every beach we went to had top notch surfing! Pura vida!!!! Absolutely beautiful place to stay. The location was perfect, private and felt very safe. The hospitality of the renter was outstanding and made our stay all the more enjoyable and easy. I actually shed a tear when we left this place. It was just too good to be true--can't wait to go back!

Perfect place to stay if your looking for a beautiful, private place to relax, minutes away from a fun, small town. Great for sightseeing, animal/nature lovers. The renter was kind and very helpful, making herself accessible prior to and during the trip. The price of this rental is well worth the money and the pictures accurately show just how wonderful and unique the house really is!! We will surely be staying here again!
